db, thanks for posting. this is very interesting to me will be helpful to a certain member of my family who has been working hard to end this practice of stop-and-frisk by the nypd.

Mayor of SF floated the idea of stop and frisk here. Didn't go over so well. :nono:

I can't tell you how frustrated I get seeing thugs hanging around town, seeing people hassled, watching bums behave badly.
But at the same time, I simply don't want to live in a place where the way you look makes you exponentially more likely to get stopped for no reason.

Definitely a tough situation on both sides.

Maybe once you start making other people uncomfortable with your direct actions TO them, then you "could" be subject for questioning.

Then you get situations like the ones in NY where authority is almost certainly going to stretch their definition and abuse the rules in place.
