Sorry Nick we know all about you...This is the movie.

Phoenix was masterful. It was very slow and unfolding. The last 30 were the best. I wanted more of him in the Joker character. I won't give away any spoilers but there are some interesting twists tying in Batman.
Hope we get to see the Joker character develop more and they make a second movie...

Honestly it's not worth running to the movies to see. Same effect on your TV at home. 7 out of 10 (maybe 6) because of the lack of action.

I agree with you. Phoenix was great but it?s a 7 at best. Pretty slow in parts. I would never sit through it a second time because of that.

I could write 8 or 9 paragraphs about this movie, but I'll keep mine short.
Phoenix is incredible in this. It is a slow burn.....you're right about that.....but it is needed.

I dont like it that Bruce Wayne is in this movie.....his father was enough.

I know T says not worth seeing in theaters, but I would say it would help with immersion into the world of Gotham. Dark theater and surround sound etc...

I give this movie a solid 8 out of 10. Really liked it. (I love dramatic films though)

T - good review. :0074

Viewed the Joker last night, it was a very dark movie with a look into the mind behind mental illness and the lack of support and treatment for it. It was very well done and worth a view on the big screen. Definitely not a kid movie. Lol

If You have seen Taxi driver, King of comedy, Machinist and Birdman there isn't much new to see.
Phoenix does good job but reviews are over hyped as usual. See you in Oscar's thread later, not gonna bet him to win

About plot, i saw it yesterday and have seen it only once and haven't red reviews or watched youtube "analysis" etc.

IMO story was how did this Arthur end up in Arkham, not story about actual Jokers origins. Quite a few Batman/Joker story tells that J shot B's dad&mam. I think that's what happens here too.

His story telling (to Arkham shrink) isn't accurate (Joker is known about his flexible narrative), imaginary gf (that was shown as backflash) or shooting in subway. He shoots eight times with six shooter, did he really do it ? Also age gap between Bruce and Arthur pointed that Arthur isn't Joker to come.

BUT it's a good movie that could have been even better without whole Joker story as just a portrait of meltdown. Obviously without Joker = $$$-profit.

Need to watch it again at some point.

IMO so far best "Joker's origins" story is in Gotham tv-series.
