I am looking to buy my first jon boat for fishing. I see all different "styles" on the market when searching Jon Boats. I am wondering what experience everyone has had with them.. I would be mainly in small pond but would occasionally want to put it in the lake... Any info would be great!

Buy used and search for a good motor. Smaller motors are lighter of course. Check the boat stopper and make sure it isn't some dry rotted cork that won't last.

plenty of good olde boys fishing in your neck of the woods..
find thosae close buy on this site and pick their brains about what they have for sale and what they like in their boat and the next one they would build or buy..
they make for good pond fishing..
personally I prefer the Sun Dolphin but to each their own..
