I can't stand this guy. What a terrible commentator.

100% agree its the same shit every week , hepicks a cpl guys each team and blows them all night. Tonight it was Chris Johnson before game (one of greatest off all time) and Sexy Rexy ( Great Head coach ). You ever hear him talk about Rodgers or Brady he def swallows for them. Its the same every week and its getting old fast!!!

I think Gruden is good, but understand some of the complaints as he goes off on tangents about how great certain players are. His insight and knowledge is far above the average commentator though.

Michaels is a play by play guy, so not really comparing apples to apples. I personally don't like him as I feel in recent years he gets on a soap box once in awhile which isn't what a play by play guy should be doing.

I like Troy Aikman and madden as color guy, still don't understand madden retiring? Gruden is good too, he has insight and is not scared to voice his opinion, it's usually right too...

The best may have been Howard Cosell though

Play by play is michaels hands down

I vomit when I watch Gruden interview the rookie QBs. I wish one of them would tell him to shut the fuck up and get up and walk out. Seriously those are the most annoying segments ever.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
can you believe ESPN pays Gruden (unconfirmed) $4.3 million a year?

He doesn't get much mentions at "awfulannouncing.com". Though they did have this recent piece "Jon Gruden compares QBs to old west icons in weird MNF intro"

Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth are the best outside of Costas.
Gruden is insightful and entertaining, a little over the top and a little hyperbolic.

But..............................................

Every night, before I go to bed I thank God for my health, my family, my friends, and the fact that Joe Theismann is no longer on air. Absolutely unbearable.

Gruden is really starting to get old. Most of the color guys are annoying as fuck in all sports. Some of the worst offenders:

Billy "Ass" Packer: Yes, I know he's retired, but his East Coast bias and Duke dick sucking will take me decades to recover from.

Clark Kellogg: I was so happy when they announced that Packer was retiring, but then they replaced him with this tool. No one wants to hear your bullshit made-up words, Clark. Try expanding your vocabulary of established English instead of squawking your annoying bullshit.

Phil Simms: As a Broncos fan, my enjoyment of this amazing year has been diminished by having to listen to the brain dead nightmare. How many concussions did this guy suffer during his playing career? My guess is at least 50.

John Madden:Thank you for retiring!

Bill Walton: An ogre that has done way too much acid.

Dan Fouts: Egomaniac that brings nothing to the table.

Matt Millen: This guy was quite possibly the worst front office employee in the history of sports. Let's give him a job as he obviously has a great understanding of how the game works!

part of the reason Millen got that front office job was the insight he displayed in his first stint as a commentator.

Tries too hard, right on point. Seriously no other Theismann bashers? Oh god do you remember Dennis Miller? I remember one time I was watching the game and he was announcing and the score in the top left said....

I was like, is this arena football, who are these teams?

Remember when it was the real dark years when Michaels had to carry Fouts and Deirdorf solo on those broadcasts?

If you're gonna get rid of one of those clowns doing MNF now, say good bye to Mike Tirico.
