Another multi year contract disaster to an over 30 yr old pitcher....Signed to be an ace, has a 3.70 ERA, and is reluctant to throw to bases.:scared:scared:scared:scared:scared:scared
No doubt his best days are behind him. Best case for the Cubs is that he gives them a shot to win when he is out there (he is going to need some good run support), and that he will be able to eat up 200 innings this year (which he is on pace to do).

He's usually a solid 2nd half, after the ASG pitcher, but to be honest, he's only good for 6 innings. Angels, Dodgers and Cards looking hard at him but Cubs want a top 4 rotation guy and a top minor league prospect as well, Dodgers willing to give up Bolsinger/Frias/Anderson but not Seager who Cubs want, Angels would give up money and Santiago (Santiago's one of 2 best LAA has currently), Cards would be willing to give up minor leaguers with ML experience and Burjos but no Grichuk who Cubs want.
He just signed a 6 yr contract worth $155 million this past off season to be the Cubs' ace:facepalm::facepalm::0002....I don't think any team would take on that contract off his 1st year so far...He is pitching like a 3rd starter now..
