I hear 6-8 weeks, does anyone think they will trade for a goalie, or stick it out with Scwhab??

Joseph out 6-8 weeks
(Feb 26) TORONTO (CP) - Curtis Joseph made 27 saves before leaving the game
with a fractured hand as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Carolina
Hurricanes 4-1 Tuesday night.

Joseph was solid and occasionally spectacular for the Leafs in his first
game since struggling in a 5-2 loss to Sweden in Team Canada's opener at
the Olympics. But the gold medallist left the game with 8:22 left to play
when he sustained a metacarpal fracture in his left hand when he tried to
rise from the ice. "I went down and went to push myself up like I normally
do," a sombre Joseph said in the dressing room. "I put it back on the mesh
and it gave way and snapped."
When the play was stopped, Joseph went directly to the Leafs dressing room.

"I knew something was wrong," he said. "It felt like it had dislocated,
something had shifted inside."

Corey Schwab came in to finish the game and made four saves.

"It's a bad break to say the least," said coach Pat Quinn. "The initial
estimate is six-to-eight weeks recovery."
Shayne Corson, Robert Reichel, Garry Valk and Gary Roberts, into an empty
net, scored for the Leafs (32-18-5-4), who have won six of their last seven
games and five straight at home.

They better find somebody quick, because I don't think Schwab can cut it.

Just got part of the info.

Joseph broke a bone in his hand between his index and middle finger on his catching glove, went to prop himself up and instead of the using the post got his glove in the webbing and bent his finger back,

Could be gone til the playoffs.

2 scenarios here for the leafs:

1. I have heard them going after Hackett

2. Go with the young goalie from their farm team who has been playing spectacular, maybe he can pull an DON EDWARDS as what he did in Buffalo when he was called up!!!

We will see!

I think the Leafs will wait 2-3 games to see how the kid plays before making a decision as to what to do

"...Quo fas et gloria ducunt..."
i was reading that QUINN ain't gonna give up anything HUGE in trades, just yet...and we have hardly any prospects down on the ROCK!!!

i think this'll be a perfect time to see what a JOSEPH-less LEAFS team will be like for the last two months...

the way that i see it, I had a class go see the LEAFS practice yesterday, BEFORE Curtis broke his hand....
normally he presents himself well with kids...but he didn't THIS time...he just kinda shrugged off the kids with a half assedwave, and took off.

NOT LIKE HIM to do that.

i have a feeling QUINN might trade for hackett, but the way that this scerario works, joseph's gone for the next two months, he's a free agent after this year...time to see if anyone can take his place...i mean i love the guy and all that, but with the OLYMPICS thing between him and QUINN getting out of hand...we'll see.

time to let schwab earn his keep and time to bring up that telqvuist (SP??) guy from the farm.....
