My fiance just called and told me she heard on the radio that while driving home at 2am last night in Denver, a car pulled up next to Julius Hodge and shot him. Did anyone hear or read this? I can't seem to find a report on it anywhere

Nuggets' Julius Hodge shot, expected to recover
April 8, 2006

DENVER (AP) -- Denver Nuggets guard Julius Hodge was shot and wounded early Saturday while driving on a highway, authorities said.

The team said he is in fair condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Sheriff's deputies said the 22-year-old player was struck several times in his lower body.

Hodge was on Interstate 76 in north Denver at about 2 a.m. when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside started shooting, the Adams County sheriff's office said. A passenger in Hodge's vehicle flagged down another motorist, who took Hodge and the passenger to the hospital.

Authorities said the motive for the shooting wasn't known, and they appealed to any witnesses to come forward.

Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said the team had little information on the shooting.

"First and foremost, our primary concern is Julius' health," he said.

Hodge was Denver's first-round draft choice in 2005 out of North Carolina State. The 6-foot-7 guard was recalled from the NBA's developmental league last month after Earl Boykins broke his hand.

That sucks! Another senseless shooting I'm sure. My only question is, what the hell was he doing out at 2a.m.?

Yeah sure, we've all done it. I was 22 at one time and yes I remember staying out sometimes until 5 or 6 am. But when your a professional athlete and in your in the limelight like these guys are, staying out late drinking and partying your asking for trouble. If you don't think there is a difference, you're blind.

Sure it does.......shot through the door.

Moving cars, heart racing.........aint like in the movies. Plus, if he's in a high ride, like a truck, or SUV, they might have been shooting upwards.
