Rutgers -21 over Bryant ***
Talk about a school hungry for a win...even though wrestling team is tops in the B-10 ...1st home game at the RAC...NJ schools all closed tomorrow so maybe a big crowd.{doubt it}.. but Rutgers has a good coach in Pickeill who although overall had a losing record did win 7 B-10 games..he came over from Stony Brook and in a few years will be in the middle of the B-10 pack..RU lost top inside player Omuri and to Oregon big loss but has 6'10 Johnson back who is a shot blocker and rebounder. and I think Mamaadu is still there..also Pick stole SB's top rebounder inside Yeboah who sat out last yr..he can score and rebound...Baker is the 6'4 pt gd that is there best player. He can score,play defense and pass... they have a few wings like Harper,Mathis, and with Yebo and Carter at 6'8 and 6'9 they should control the paint tonite...Pickeill when at SB had his kids play tough defense and were physical..well he now has better athletes that are quicker and stronger...also he recruited the NJ HS POY in Mulcathy ...and the texas transfer Young who if I remember was a lefty scorer... a lot of talent and with Baker with the ball this team is pretty solid...Bryant was 3-28 and 10-20 the past 2 yrs,, they are coached by Grasso who I know..he was Cluess asst at Iona...and if you remember Tim cannot coach any defense ..was wondering if Grasso was the defensive coach at Iona ..anyway they are no match tonite.. They have Grant at 6'1 and return Ndougba who sat out last yr...there top inside players are 6'5 or 6'6..they can't shoot from the 3 after losing to Brown the other nite by 2 pts...think Rutgers inside will score and their tough defense will stop Bryant ...Baker and co should be able to dominate... last yr in Pickeill 1st 2 games they won 95-66 and 90-55 vs Drexal and FDU...and 2 yrs ago they beat Bryant 83-54 and Baker had 29 pts and was 7-10 from the 3...
The fans have had little to cheer about in NJ after football coach fired,etc think tonite at the RAC they will be cheering ..have been playing only 2 *'s so far..but once I saw Grasso was coaching at bryant had to throw in another box *
