I think the June Job Report was a very good signal to our economy today. I hope this slow growth continues and is sustainable

And while you are at it, find out what the vacation days and sick leave provisions are also. Also check to see if the pension plans are solid and the 401k contributions are at a fair rate. Make sure that everyone's working hours are ok with them and that no one who doesn't want to work on weekends or nights doesn't have to do it. And find out how many people have fully paid health insurance for themselves, their families and all their relatives.

Because God knows that nothing positive could be happening.....

Still have not found what the average wage of the new jobs are but it is positive that average wages increased:

While the 146,000 jobs created in June were less than the 195,000 economists hoped for, the unemployment rate fell to 5 percent from 5.1 percent in May, and hourly earnings rose 0.2 percent.

I couldn't find an exact figure, but this is from today's issue of the Los Angeles TImes business section:"June's job growth followed revised gains of 104,000 in May and 292,000 in April. The latest gains were spread across many industries, with some of the biggest increases in sectors that tend to pay higher wages."

The article also noted that professional and business services added 56.000 jobs; education added 38,000; and construction, riding the booming housing market, added 18,000 jobs.

However, manufacturing jobs tumbled 24,000 - a 55 year low. The explanation was that factories were boosting productivity but auto assembly and parts plants cut production.
