been reading lots of posts the past two weeks..........I mean enough is enough!!
man oh man........never ceases to amaze me.......no matter how many times I find myself defending America........I just have to say it:
As a whole there isn't a country in the world with more moronic people then the USA........I mean I love the States and think it's a great country.....but I mean where else in the world can you find people that just know so little about the rest of the world???
Yes, Canada is the best country in the world.......(shit were always voted as the best place to live...although this year Norway beat us out...dam Norweigns) and unlike many Americans (not all) we Canadians can actually take criticism now and then.......geez what a concept huh
And FWIW I do think Canada should be backing the US in this war.....but don't give me that crap about the US and how great you were, etc, etc, etc............for those of you who actually look at facts every now and then............you will notice that the US sat on their ass for quite some time before joining into WWII, I do recall Hitler just rolling into countries with the US just laying back and doing nothing.............so don't pound your chest and try to tell me how the US was there in WWII.........because....guess what Canada was there wayyyyyyyyyyy before the US was!!!
bottom line........the US is a great country with great people, and we Canadians made a big mistake not backing the US..........guess all I'm trying to say is..........the US is great......and so is Canada...........now get along dammit
and by the way.......for those Americans that can actually take the odd critisism..........here are a couple things you can do perhaps improve:
(and please.......before ya start with the preverbial......."USA, USA, USA," just read.....might learn something)
1) In school instead of teaching the kids 4 billion hours of how the civil war started and who George Washington's 5th cousin was....maybe you could actually teach em a little about other countries history.....ummm just a thought :shrug:
2) Maps are fun, open one up......they're colourful.......oh yeah there's other countries on them......cool concept huh.
3) Metric system??!!!! (just learn it...that's all!)
4) Gov't where only one of two parties can win.........something's not right there :shrug: (I mean Gore or Bush......what kind of choice is that?)
5) Can't speed on highway (cops everywhere with their little guns....hell I've even seen em out of their cars behind trees!!!.....but can buy a oozie :shrug:
6) Nudity on TV........no.....you can't do that........ummmm why... :shrug: .....and then of course there's those movies on ABC, NBC, etc. with dubbing.........like come on!!!
7) Just report the news.......it's not entertainment.......it's the news :shrug: (is having reporters buddy/buddy with the troops really a smart thing........do you really think a reporter who's being "protected" by the troops......is going to report honestly and accurately??)
8) Realize that not every single entertainer is American......there are actually people from other countries that appear in movies ya know? Oh and most of those movies are filmed in Canada by the way )
9) The word "tax" isn't a bad word ya know..........hey get this....there are countries in the world with clean cities and roads you can actually drive on............wow.......what a concept
10) Two words......Health Care...........wow......shocking
...........if learned a lot from Americans.....maybe this measily little Canadian can pass along something :shrug:
