Wow, this place looks like my last visit to Monticello, years ago, on my way to my in-laws in upstate N.Y. Absolutely deserted! Didn't bring the binoculars on that trip and coulda used them to see if there was anybody else in the place on a absolutely beautiful weekday afternoon up there. :(

I made one attempt, about 2 weeks ago, to give Philly a shot and went through the rigorous task (hours) of analyzing the races and put the bets in ONLY TO SEE THAT THEY CANCELLED AGAIN. Those mutha jumpahs just take any opportunity to cancel the racing card. SHEEEET!

Last evening, I checked the entries AND THE WEATHER so I decided that I ain't gonna do any serious handicapping this time but I am gonna do something that has worked a few times in the past - just make a few small bets from the program. The racing card looked great and it looks like the 21 day quarantine bit is over. Since this is the only track I play and know the horses so well, I thought I'd have a chance to make it a winning day.

I was just watching my alma mater getting trounced by Notre Dame (surprise, surprise :mj07:) and remembered that I had hosses (HOPEFULLY) running today and here I am. Just watched the first race I played and was actually run, the 3rd. Now, does anybody remember all the stuff I wrote about a hoss, Barely Nothing, here? OF COURSE, I had this one today even though I know that this former great PHILLY-TYPE hoss has tailed off dramatically since the days I LUVED him/it (?).

Played ONE STINKIN DOLLAR zacks 1,2 top/bot 3,4 and also 2 stinkin dollars to win on nos. 1 and 2 for this 3rd race. Wow, what a nice comeback for me. After watching this race, I feel like I just starred in the movie I watch every year, "The Greatest Story Ever Told". You racing fans know the feeling of watching a fav. horse of yours win your race by barely nothing at the wire. And the horse that he barely beat was a 5/1 exacta mate forya. Looks like it's time to get the MJ troopers back in action in this deserted forum :director:

Yeah, that was a nice homecoming present from Philly today.

BTW, my (ONLY) other favorite Philly hoss, Reflected Way, is running in a later race, RIGHT NOW, I only watched the 3rd race replay and I'm gonna check out the replays of the other races I played (5th and 7th). I was gonna posted what I played in the later races, but that really doesn't help anybody; I just hadda share this before checking my later races out.

Oh, for whatever reason, I didn't play Reflected Way today. Maybe it's because I hit this one at a nice price that last time I played it and don't wanna push my luck with this one. Or maybe it's because I wish they would STOP running this old horse with a HUGE heart who made plenty enough $$ for it's owner(s) over the years (just like I wrote in an earlier post here). Greedy bastages are gonna squeeze every drop of blood out of this old "golden egg".

Part of the reason I'm writing this is that I'll probably start posting again and (be careful) I'll be using this short cut method of capping. After one or two losing days, I'll try to get back to the time consuming handicapping way again. I DON'T miss doing the "homework" part at all, do enough of that these days with the footsballers.

Looking forward to having some fun in this forum again.
Good luck and have a great NEW YEAR, y'awl. And don't dwink till ya dwop either.
