I just purchased a CD burner and I want to download music. I know there has been lots of talk about how this is illegal and I don't want to break the law, but is there a way to download music legally. Are there free sites or are there just pay sites. I am computer idiot by the way. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

:D

Chickenman,

not exactly sure how to interpret your question.... but there is no way to download *legally* for free. if you are actually looking for free, then kazaa lite is a great way, if you are looking for *legal* you need to pay for each song you download and burn so that the artist gets their share of the money. i know that AOL offers pay downloading for sure, but can't give you any names or websites of the many additional legal ways.

"I've heard" that WinMX.com is good. I would never do that sort of thing, of course....but that's what "I've heard". :)

Not a huge selection if you are looking for non-current tunes though.

Limewire is also pretty good. As far as the legality, there was actually a recent ruling that helped downloaders. It was ruled that record companies cannot get user ISP from providers. It was a bit blow to the RIAA.

Thanks for all the replies. I have been using SoulSeek and it has been working great. I might try WinMx also.

T.V. is there a site for the 90's like you had for the 80's. Thanks

I agree, I use Mirc all the time, but most do not know how to use it.

If using Kazaa get Kazaa lite unless you want spyware. WinMX IMO is not very well, or any p2p program, as said earlier, I think soulseek is #1, try it out you wont be dissapointed. GL!!!!!!
