named Doug Sherman in Reno. Hope its alright to post his name. He runs some kind of sports service and he said he only plays bad offset lines. What the hell is an offset line? He said to take the Celtics tonite for what its worth. Anyone hear of this guy?

Generally, an "offset line" is one that the handicapper portrays as being soft, or way off. Some cappers will set their own spread to these games, and if there is a huge variance, they will refer to it as offset.
Keep in mind that a lot of these joker pay services tout their plays as "mismatches" and/or "oddsmakers errors."

I bought a play, Michigan, laying 5. Guy talked me into playing $2000 on it, which i really didn't have. Michigan lost by 20. When i called the guy, he said and i quote, "ya, we lost a tough one on that game".
