Coming home from grocery store a motorcycle rider just around the corner from my house laying on the pavement in my travel lane. His legs were mangled underneath him and no helmet. No rescue on seen yet but alot of bystanders. Very disturbing site. Will never be able to get that vision out of my head. Very sad.

Sucks to see this kind of thing. Unfortunately I have seen a couple of these myself, one in my front yard. As bad as it sucks I always think about what I would want someone to do for me, so I will do whatever I can to save someone. That may sound like a given, but my neighbor literally would not go look at that guy that lost it on his motorcycle in my front yard, and he was actually outside before I was. Sucks dude!

Never seen a dead person outside of being in a casket.

My dad told me he witnessed a motorcycle guy getting cut in 1/2 by a flat bed semi just outside of Okeechobee, FL once.

Sorry you had to see that. It's there forever unfortunately.

Faced the same thing 6 years ago in downtown ATL where I75 and I85 merge. Mortorcycle guy like above posts crumbled under his bike, hit by 2 cars (at least) in front of me after spilling. First on scene along with another vehicle driver and we wwere both in shock in emergency lane. Surreal....Girl that ran over him accidentally was really fawked up upset.

This is why I have so much respect for the EMT's that see this a lot. How they are able to do this job is beyond me.

I've never encountered a dead body from an accident like this, but I have done CPR on several people (most did not make it, some did). Some sights haunt u and u think about them all the time. Sorry u encountered that. Think how it has been, is, and will be for soldiers during wartime? What a sacrifice they make.

On the course!
No doubt it will be with you for a while, but it does tend to wane over time. I don't see the faces of the dead from an accident on Christmas Eve about 5 years back, unless someone mentions something like this. Then....it is as fresh as the day it happened.

I know a few cops, and they all say the same thing:

"It stays with you until you see the next one"

I know it doesnt compare in any way to a horrific crash.....but seeing my Dad die from cancer was obviously something I'll never be able to forget. Kissing my Dad on the forehead and telling him that I love him for the last time (in the flesh) before his body was taken away........Never done anything that was harder in my life, so that thought and vision will always be a memory I can vividly recall.

In my experience, it stays there forever, but does wane over time.
I commend you for doing what you can! :0074
like you said, what if it was you? Even if you can't save them, their last moments had a little more comfort. I would think if you ran inside and hid like a little bitch it would eat @ you for the rest of your life.
