Got done with the taxes earlier than I thought so I decided to just see what the card looked like for Sat. Downloaded the PPs LATE Thurs. for Sat. races. SHEESH, they call this a SATURDAY card of races? Small fields, cheap shippers, just dullsville. Even the last race, which is usually decent, is a cheap field of claimers (I actually like that part... but for a Saturday??) and, as usual, probably at least one scratch makes it a field of seven. Man, I hope their casino can keep their doors open.
Just notes:
One horse is VERLY interlesting indeed in the 3rd race though. No. 7, Southcote Road, 15-1 M.L. is one for the cappers to go figure. Didn't run a lick in her majority of pretty cheap races at "Mnr" (??.. Mountaineer? if so that's another Mickey Mouse outfit) and got some mercy by her owner or trainer by calling it quites for 2010 in Sept with a record of 1 stinkin SHOW in 9 starts. And how about that last (3/4/11) workout - 3 fur. in 43 4/5 YIKES!. I don't EVER remember seeing anything like that and EVER is a long time for me cause I started following the ponies (on/off but mostly ON) since my teens. Unless she went around the track on a pogo stick that is just unreal.
Now I ain't gonna make it a priority to get to my puter come 1 p.m. today to check this nag out... but I do believe I'll be able to ... and IF she's got 4 legs attached I will play her. Mostly for two reasons...
One -> how cum two or three trainers or owners are battling each other trying to buy this piece of Poo? In EACH of her last 3 races she got claimed for $7.5 K after ALL THEM TERRIBLE RACES and now she shows up, after being freshened up, for her 2011 debut for $5K.
Two, she's 21 for 53 starts in the money and her earnings are $89K which is far better than most of today's field.
Oh, make that 3 reasons... check out her breeding.
Still I gotta caution yas - I can't think of an angle good enough to cover up her terrible racing pps and that cwazy workout. But, she sure is intriguing.
Nothing playable until the 8th which has horses I'm very familiar with, yet still not confident about the play:
Just a lean with a trifecta play... .. 1/2,3,6/2,3,6 and maybe a side order of that no. 2 for Win, only. If it wasn't for the layoff - he'd be the pick.
9th race:
Playable, but ya gotta lay down the greenies three different ways...
zacta box 5-7
trifecta - 5/1,3,6/1,3,6
side order of no. 7 Win and Place @ 2x
(if the no. 7 wins - you'll get all your bets back and maybe even a little profit if ya play it right and the tri or the exacta should produce a profit if either hit).
Saturday racing is of interest around here, so maybe these notes may help somebody.
