Just Watched Undisputed With Snipes & Rhames. My Thoughts!

Truely enjoyed the movie. As a boxing fan I was reallly pleased with the final fight. Even thou I enjoyed the Rocky movies. I mean let's get real. Nobody human comes back from that punishment that Rocky took. Not even Gatti. And any referee stops the fight too. Not believeable at all. I told my wife leading up to the final fight in Undisputed that I hoped they didn't have a similar type fight in store for us. Well what we got was a highly believable and excellant fight. Great boxing by Snipes & Rhames. And also great acting thru out by the entire cast. 3.5 stars out of 4 from me. And on a side note. Nobody left me yet felling like he was a pro boxer like Carl Wheathers did as Appolo Creed. He was great.

I agree Smoke.

First of all, if anyone thinks they're getting this to see some great art or something, it's not happening. It's a movie about two guys having a fight in a prison. As far as that goes, its well done.

Snipes and Rhames both give good performances. They're both kind of laid back and tough. Neither one is very likeable (nor is anyone else in the movie) which is part of why you don't know who is going to win the final fight. They're both in shape, and Rhames looks absolutely HUGE in a couple scenes.

They don't mess around with any touchy-feely stories of redemption in prison. They just set the stage for the fight, let the movie go that way, with a few confrontations along the way, and then have the fight.

The scenes with Peter Falk, especially the one where he lists his regrets about how he ended up in prison are good. If you like him, you'll like him in this, I think. He might not have many performances left in him, but he can be proud of this one.

And, the final fight is well done -- much better than Rocky. I didn't like the running commentary from Ed Lover too much, but I suppose you have to have something going on while they're fighting.

Probably 3 out of 4 stars for me. I thought it was good, but didn't really have anything EXTRA to take it over the edge for me.
