This shapes up as an important game for both teams. Kansas City has already clinched the AFC West, but is looking to secure home field advantage. After starting 6-0, the Vikings lost their next four and are in a dogfight to make the playoffs.

Dick Vermeil has his offense in full gear, but he?s discovered another big weapon in Dante Hall. Hall has taken the league by storm this year by averaging over 26 yards on kick returns, and scoring 4 touchdowns on returns this season.

Priest Holmes and the rest of Kansas City?s offense has benefited from great field position, although they can score from just about anywhere on the field. Kansas City scores the most points in the league with an average of 30.9 points per game. A big part of that high scoring average is Priest Holmes. Again this season, Holmes has proved that he is a touchdown machine, leading the league with 22 TDs. With two strong performances to close the season, he might be able to break Emmitt Smith?s record of 25 TDs.

In the air, Chiefs QB Trent Green does more than just get the job done. Green is atop the league lead in almost every category. His favorite target is TE Tony Gonzalez. Gonzalez leads the Chiefs in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Whenever Kansas City is in the red zone on Saturday, you can almost guarantee the ball is going to either Holmes or Gonzalez.

On defense, the Chiefs take the ball away often! They are the best in the league with a +21 turnover differential. That?s 11 more than any other team. Scott Fujita and Shawn Barber lead the Kansas City defense in tackles with over 100 each, but it?s going to take more than just two guys to stop Minnesota?s highflying passing attack.

Minnesota is fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. They started the season strong, 6-0 SU and ATS, but fell apart afterwards going 1-7 ATS. Now, they need to win out to have a chance at winning their division, or getting in as a wild card team. The key to Minnesota?s success against the Chiefs could lie in the hands of Randy Moss. Everyone knows how dangerous he can be, but teams still can?t stop him. Season after season, Moss keeps putting up numbers that show why he?s one of the best. This season is no different. He leads all receivers in touchdowns with 14. He?s also averaging over 100 yards per game.

Vikings coach Mike Tice needs his defense to step up. This season, the Vikings defense has been anything but spectacular. At times, they have played well. At other times they have been blown out, allowing 48 points against St. Louis and 42 to San Diego. Tice had better get creative if the Vikings are going to have a shot at stopping all of Kansas City?s weapons.

The Sportsbooks look for a close game in the MetroDome, as Kansas City is a slim FG favorite. They also look for a high scoring game, as the posted total is way up there at 54 points. Trend plays will be on Minnesota as the Vikings are a very good 18-5 ATS as home dogs. Make the Vikings a home puppy versus and AFC opponent and it?s like money in the bank with a 5-1 ATS record. However, Kansas City is an amazing 10-1 ATS after allowing 400 or more total yards/game in their last 3 games.
