I know Kansas doesnt own OU like it did Kstate but OU is not very good and Kansas is just rolling they are averaging like 86 pts on this streak and only giving up 56; I know its a road game but Kansas just has to much firepower; the line opened up at 8 and is now down to 6.5; does OU have a chance to cover; i know it will be packed at OU but I just cant see Kansas stumbling.
Any input.

Yep. Kind of surprised to see the line moving that direction. KU has been playing their best basketball of the year- arguably better than anyone of late. Certainly better than the "#1 and #2" teams in the country that both couldn't score 50 today. Never in a hurry to lay the road chalk, but I think KU by 10 or more tomorrow.

The Jayhawks are on a roll, but that has not stopped the Sooners (15-12, 6-8) in the past. Oklahoma has beaten Kansas teams ranked in the top 10 four times since 2001, most recently a 71-63 victory at Norman on Feb. 21, 2005, against the then-No. 8 Jayhawks.

I just think this is the worst sooner team they have had in the last 10 years and this is one of the better KU teams that is really on a roll; KU also has to win to get a number one seed not only for the big xii tourney but the big tourney.

College bball is about momentum and OU has lost 4 straight while KU is rolling; OU has lost 4 straight and if they lose 5 in a row it will be the first time they have lost 5 in a row since 1991 which just goes to show how far OU has dropped; I think the line moved based off of previous history in the series; Texas showed that OU cannot compete against the cream of the crop and Texas is basically a one man show while KU can beat you in so many ways.

Hey guys.. I apologize. I made a bad pick. Its senior night for OU, so its Kellen's (aka - Kelvin Sampson's walk-on son) last homegame. He's obviously going to be cheering his ass off. Sooner's ROLL!!!!

(extreme sarcasm)

Kansas in the spotlight....

Kansas in the spotlight....

equals choke. I am playing OU. They are not going to roll over and they sure as hell are not going to play like Iowa State. Yeah, yeah..KU is on fire..yada yada yada....Bill Self will lose this game for Kansas, again. IMO, a defensive battle that is decided in the last few minutes....I'll take the 7 and may even put a little on the money line. Goodluck.

Oklahoma vs. Kansas

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preview

With two regular-season games remaining, Kansas is locked in a tie atop the Big 12 standings. The sixth-ranked Jayhawks look for sole possession of the conference lead when they visit Oklahoma on Monday.

The Jayhawks (25-4, 12-2) have won six straight games to move into a tie with No. 8 Texas A&M for first place in the Big 12. The Aggies, who are idle Monday, play at No. 19 Texas on Wednesday and face Missouri at home Saturday. Kansas closes out its schedule Saturday with a home game against the Longhorns.

If the Jayhawks and Aggies finish the regular season tied, Texas A&M would earn the top seed in the conference tournament by virtue of winning 69-66 at Kansas on Feb. 3.
Kansas has dominated the opposition during its winning streak, taking the six games by an average margin of 28.8 points, including an 89-52 victory Saturday over Iowa State. Mario Chalmers led six Jayhawks in double-figures with 18 points. Sherron Collins, starting for injured guard Russell Robinson, added 12 points, six assists and three steals as Kansas won for the 19th time in its last 21 contests.

"For the last 10 games we have really hunkered down and played well," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "Our guys are pretty confident right now. We're playing the best we have all year."
8 Jayhawks.

This year's Sooners, though, are slumping. They matched a season high with four straight wins Jan. 30-Feb. 10, but have followed that up with four consecutive losses, including Saturday's 68-58 defeat to Texas when they could not overcome a 13-point halftime deficit.

"I thought our guys fought - every possession," Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel said. "In the second half we came out and got after it defensively and did some good things offensively. We didn't make some shots but we were able to compete.

"Even when we're not making shots, we can still compete. Some of our guys stepped up and did some really good things today. Hopefully, this is something we can build on."

Nate Carter had 13 points and three rebounds against Texas. Carter is averaging 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds during Oklahoma's losing streak after averaging 19.5 points and 7.4 rebounds over his previous 10 contests, with the Sooners going 7-3 in that stretch.

The Sooners have won their last two home matchups against the Jayhawks, but are looking to avoid their first five-game losing streak since a six-game skid in 1991.

"We have to be ready," Capel said. "It will be really tough here on Monday. It will be an emotional night. It's senior night. But we'll be prepared for it."

one man's take [not mine]

one man's take [not mine]

Monday, February 26th, 9:00 p.m. (et).
The Sports Network

By Pat Taggart, Associate College Basketball Editor

FACTS & STATS: Site: Lloyd Noble Center (12,000) -- Norman, Oklahoma. Television: ESPN. Home Record: Kansas 15-2, Oklahoma 12-3. Away Record: Kansas 7-2, Oklahoma 1-7. Neutral Record: Kansas 3-0, Oklahoma 2-2. Conference Record: Kansas 12-2, Oklahoma 6-8. Series Record: Kansas leads, 130-64.

GAME NOTES: The Kansas Jayhawks have won 12 conference games for the seventh consecutive season, and they will attempt to improve their already stellar record as they take on the Oklahoma Sooners in Big 12 play tonight from the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Kansas currently owns a six-game win streak and has scored at least 89 points four times during the current run. The most recent victory for the Jayhawks occurred on Saturday by a score of 89-52 over Iowa State. Oklahoma is struggling as a 68-58 loss to Texas on Saturday represented the fourth consecutive setback for the Sooners. They are a solid 12-3 at home this season, but the last two contests in Norman have resulted in defeat. Kansas owns a commanding 130-64 lead in the all-time series with Oklahoma, and the Jayhawks have won two of the last three meetings.
Kansas is averaging an impressive 79.0 ppg this season on 49.5 percent shooting from the floor, and the club is limiting its opponents to 59.7 ppg on 37.2 percent efficiency from the field. Brandon Rush is the leading scorer for the Jayhawks, as he is netting 13.8 ppg. Mario Chalmers and Julian Wright are contributing 11.6 ppg apiece, and Wright also leads the squad with 8.0 rpg. Darrell Arthur is posting 10.9 ppg, and Sherron Collins rounds out the double- digit scorers with 10.0 ppg. In the romp over Iowa State on Saturday, six KU players reached double figures in scoring. Chalmers paced the group with 18 points, as his Jayhawks shot 52.2 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-10 effort from behind the arc. Clearly, the 47-15 rebounding advantage that Kansas earned proved to be the difference.

Center Longar Longar has been a strong performer for Oklahoma this season, as he is netting 11.2 ppg overall despite a less impressive average in conference games (8.8 ppg). Nate Carter, who is scoring 11.0 ppg through 27 outings, is racking up 16.4 ppg against Big 12 competition and has to be considered the top offensive performer for the Sooners at this point. Michael Neal rounds out a trio of double-digit scorers with 10.2 ppg. Oklahoma is limiting Big 12 opponents to just 62.9 ppg on 42.8 percent shooting from the field, so it is hard to blame the team's defensive play for the 6-8 league record. Austin Johnson scored 14 points for the Sooners in Saturday's loss to Texas, and Carter added 13 points. Oklahoma connected on only 33.9 percent of its field goal attempts and suffered a 23-8 deficit in points from the foul line.

Oklahoma will put forth a strong effort at home, but Kansas is the better of the two teams and should prevail.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Kansas 77, Oklahoma 68
...................................................................

Sports Network is by no means the be all end all when it comes to NCCA Hoops..But they at least lend some input ...for what it may be worth..

Total at 129...seems to me OKL. has to score around 65 to even keep it close..Better play out of this game is the OVER 129..

input welcome..glta

Hey bro, nothing personal. Just trying to discuss the game, as well. I was referring to your opening comment, "KU in the spotlight equals choke." I disagree here. As far as the KState game goes, yes, I did not play the side. I played the under (winner) and I think I offered plenty of analysis as to why I liked that side. Here, I am willing to lay the points with KU. Reasons, for starters, I think OU is not as good as team as KState, nor are they as well coached, yet I am getting the same number if not lower. OU has lost 4 in a row. I don't think the home court will be as much as a factor as it was at KState. Last 5 games KU is averaging 83 points a game while giving up just 54. OU scoring just 58 while giving up 57. KU 5-0 in their last SU and ATS. OU 1-4 SU and ATS. I think KU gets into the 70s tonight, while OU will struggle to get out of the 50s. I could go on. I live in KC and watch the Hawks quite a bit myself. So as far as not giviing out any plays, here is my play KU -7. GL.

Nobody has really mentioned that Russell Rob is out tonight. IMO this actually makes KU a stronger play as SHaRRON (sp) COLLINS is the SHIT! This guy is sick- best frosh in the country imo, and I am an Arizona guy. KU is on a roll- KU or no play. I'm riding them again. OU is Jekyl & Hyde when it comes to Home vs. Road, but KU is HHHOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTT and will win by Double Dig's:director: KU COVERS!
