NEW MEXICO +9 Double Play W

Arizona is only 2-4 straight up in their last 6 games. The 2 wins were each by 7 points. In those 6 games they are giving up an average of 43 points a game, with a defense that ranks 113th in the nation! New Mexico has won 3 out of their last 4 games including a very impressive 7 point win at Boise. Throw in the fact that Arizona is -5 turnovers on the year and NM is +5 turnovers on the year. Finally, this is pretty much a home game for NM. Maybe the Lobo's don't win this game, but I'll take the generous spread. I'm on NEW MEXICO +9 Double Play.

BOWL GAMES
2-0

MIAMI BEACH BOWLL

This should be a fun game to watch as both teams can light-up the scoreboard. W Kent. has a NFL prospect QB in Doughty who leads the nation in touchdown passes. the Hilltoppers are 3rd in the nation in passing and 4th in scoring. They also have an impressive +16 turnover margin. But a closer look at their schedule shows wins over M Tenn., N Texas, Old Dominion, Fla Atl, Rice, Fla International...
...hardly an impressive resume. Their only two losses came at the hands of a decent Indiana and they got beat by 4 touchdowns against a sub-par LSU. South Florida started the year 1-3, but finished the year winning 7 out of 8 games, going 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games. In their last 3 games they beat Temple 44-33, Cincinnati 65-27 and finished off the year with a win over a terrible C Fla 44-3. S Fla, also has a very good turn-over margin on the year at +8. They too have a really good offense, averaging nearly 250 yards on the ground and almost 200 yards through the air. South Florida's Head Coach has W Kent ties, as he was their HC from 2010-2012, after 8 years as an assistant. He also played QB for W Kentucky. Not that it makes much difference, but I'm thinking he REALLY wants this game!! It's tough going against W Kent, but S Florida has played a much tougher schedule, this game is in their back yard and they are getting points! That's good enough for me. I'm on SOUTH FLORIDA +3 -130

(I put a little on the money line too, and l also like the over.)

Good luck!

BOWLS 2-1
Double Plays 2-0

When handicapping the bowl games or any game for that matter, it sure would be nice to know which teams are going to "bring it" and which teams are going to stand around and go through the motions.
So far the MAC teams have looked really good. I believe they are 3-0 vs the spread, with 2 out-right winners. The lone loss was Ohio going down by 2 points. Both Akron and Toledo played great yesterday. I think there is good reason for this....the MAC has some really good teams! The MAC in general had some huge wins throughout the year. I'm staying with the MAC.

BOWLING GREEN -7 Double Play L

Here we have the best team from the MAC going against a very good Georgia Southern team. I won't bore you with BG offensive stats (although they are very impressive), I'd just like to point out that in their final 7 games they averaged 50 points! Georgia Southern can run the ball, no doubt about that, but their passing attack is non-existent, averaging only 62 passing yards a game!! BG is +14 in turnover margin and GS is +4. I just don't see how GS stays in this one if they get behind. I'm on BOWLING GREEN -7 Double Play.

N ILLINOIS +9 L

The only thing keeping this from a Double Play is the QB issues for N Ill. Although, they've had time
to work on that the last 3 weeks. I might be wrong, but I'm just not that impressed with Boise State this year and I think giving 9 points is too much to give a really good MAC team. After all, N Ill played BG in the conference championship. I'm grabbing the generous spread here and hoping that whoever plays QB for N Ill doesn't piss down his leg.

Good luck!
