Double Plays
6-5
Not a good day for me yesterday. I started the day off nicely with a double play on Houston, but lost the next two games, including a double play on Michigan State. I really thought Michigan State could keep it close by stopping Henry and limiting Coker. They did a decent job on Henry, but Coker threw the ball at will. I knew Bama had a really good D, but that showing yesterday was insane! Michigan State couldn't do ANYTHING! Michigan State embarrassed themselves and as champions of the Big Ten, they embarrassed the Big Ten conference too. Michigan State was just a bad pick. I also was on Oklahoma. That was another "bone-headed" pick. Leading by one at halftime, I guess the Sooners thought the game was over at halftime and decided to just watch the game in the second half.
It comes down to figuring out which teams are going to "play" the game and which teams are going to just "watch" the game. Yesterday, both Michigan State and Oklahoma decided to just "watch" the games (at least in the second halves), of course both Clemson and Bama had a lot to do with that as they both played hard the entire game.
On to today!
NORTHWESTERN +8 1/2
At 10-2, NW had some impressive wins this year. They have a very good D, but a mediocre O. They are only giving up 16 points a game and they've held 7 teams to 14 points or less! With a D like that, I'll take the generous spread.
MICHIGAN -3 -120
Michigan got smoked in their last game vs Ohio State. If Hairball is any kind of a coach he will have them ready to play today. Besides, it is painful watching that Florida offense.
OHIO STATE -6 Double Play
I'll say it again, just figure out who's going to play hard for 4 quarters and who's gonna to send it in and go through the motions. I think the Buckeyes will play hard today, like they did in their last game vs Michigan. If they do, they are by far the better team and this will be an easy win for them today. Besides, Urban Meyer is 9-2 in Bowl games (9-2 vs the the spread).
I hope everyone has a Happy and blessed New Year!
