volfan my daddy is a Volunteer and 1915 model and he was a firm believer that boys are like canoes, they work best when paddled from behind. He also told the father of an unrulely teen neighbor boy, that you gotta work hell outta boys, play hell outta boys or beat hell outta boys, & the first two are much better options than the third. That "hickory" term brings back memories.
