No Rather turned into a partisan shill. Like an O'reilly
The night before the election O'Reilly played the full interview he had with Bush, originally shown over 3 days. The first two parts Bush interviewed very well and would seem to erase a bit his unsure performance in the debates. O'Reilly said that they would give Kerry equal time but that he never agreed to be interviewed by him. Honestly, O'Reilly had me sick the last few weeks with his Kerry interview pursuit. Just should've shut the fuk up about it.
He also reminded everyone at the end of the show on Monday that U.S. Senate candidate for Florida, Betty Castor, head of Education in Fla., had refused to discipline in any way alleged terrorist professor at USF, Sami Al-Arian even after the FBI found grounds to accuse him of terrorist links. He was later arrested by the FBI.
Betty Castor lost the senate race to former Bush cabinet member Mel Martinez in a closely disputed race.
O'Reilly certainly made his point of view the night before the election. Similar to Rather? I think O'Reilly would have given Kerry the win much earlier than Rather did if things were revered.
Fair and balanced? You decide.
It's an alternative to the left bias we've grown accustomed to.
BTW, I doubt Kerry or any other high profile candidate would have interviewed with O'Reilly after his sexual harassment thing came out. Bush interviewed prior to that.
