OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP)?Veteran kicker Matt Stover says he?s no longer in the Baltimore Ravens? plans.
Stover said Thursday night that when he approached team officials Monday to tell them about a free-agent offer from the New York Jets, he said the Ravens responded by telling the 41-year-old kicker that they are ?going in a different direction.?
But the Jets re-signed Jay Feely, a close friend of Stover?s. That leaves Stover without a kicking job for next season.
In 18 NFL seasons, Stover has made 462 of 552 field goals and hit 558 of 561 career extra points.
