KMA, computer help please.

About 2 days ago i started getting these popups on internet exploer that say i need to dl this stuff to stop the blackworm virus. I have spyware doctor now that stops these sites from showing but they still popup. My computer has been so slow today it took about 20 to restart and be able to get online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks BSU for the response. I figured out my computer doesnt have the black worm virus i think it has something called winfixer. It keeps sending popups wanting me to dl this stuff and even when i click no it still tries to dl. It has slowed my computer down i can still get online but i cant play poker. Any help would really be appreciated I dont know very much about computers and I have no idea how to get rid of this.

A friend of mines computer had this winfixer thing, it was a pain in the butt. If I remember right, Microsofts spyware remover took care of it, I think now it's called "defender" worth a shot anyway.

Here is the solution as given to me by KMA.

Download WinFixerFix.exe from the URL:

http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/WinFixerFix.exe


Execute; WinFixerFix.exe { Note: You must accept the default of C:\McAfee }
Choose; Unzip
Choose; Close

NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to go through your
FireWall to enable WGET.EXE to download the needed McAfee related files.

Execute; c:\mcafee\clean.bat
{ or Double-click on 'Clean Link' in c:\mcafee }

A final report in HTML format called C:\mcafee\ScanReport.HTML will be generated. At the end of the scan, it will be displayed in your browser (Opera, FireFox or Internet Explorer).
It is suggested that yah move the report out of c:\mcafee before performing another scan. It would be a good idea to scan in Safe Mode and in Normal Mode and save a copy of the HTML report for each session.
