YEs..."the same shit" where a player goes for an interception.

I never said the call would be different or the same.

I simply stated that with "real refs" or "fake refs" NFL players rarely knock the ball down.

Everybody knows the call was awful.

But as YYZ said, it would have been a mute point if the ball got knocked down.

so the point would have been 'silent'?

It is a moot point if there are competent refs on the field. Look back at the thread title, yyz and your contention of the stance/result of the game and mine. Why the fuck are you continuing on this argument, only because you are talking out both sides of your ass.

No...you seem to read where I am on both sides.

I am not.

You can't seem to pick up on that fact.

I said with regular refs it wouldn't have mattered.

You disagreed with me.

Then you say it was an awful call.

The thread's author states the fault is with the GB players, and you agree.

Then you state later its not fool proof.

you are all over the place. Even the replacement refs would probably give you this flag.

Yep. Notice none of the johnny knockdowns will acknowledge your point.

Knock the ball down? Did you see that scrum? Knocking it = bouncing off someone's helmet ten feet in the air, likely as not. Knockdowns have their place, but they are not the right technique on every play.

I would think Golden Taint would have a pretty good perspective on this play. :0008

If you are saying that the he should have knocked the ball down.......then you are wrong. You have either never played the game, coached the game or were not very good at either one. Green Bay defended the play perfectly. They had the receiver surrounded......a guy in the front, one in the back and one on each side. The guy in front got shoved off.......blatant P.I. right there......but no call. The guy in back got up higher and got his hands on the football. He cannot knock the ball down right there......knock it down where???? To the receivers gut ??? You can't knock the ball down when you are the defender behind the play guys. The refs scrwed the pooch here......plain and simple. First on the no call of the pass intereference. Then on the guy ..... who was also out of position by the way...... giving credit to Tate for the touchdown.

I won't wager another dime on the NFL until the refs come back. This is just bullshit....... :sadwave:
