I admit that im not the biggest nba fan.
But someone told me today that koby,:mj07: scored 80plus pts in a reg. season game.

If this is true that impressive. He is good no dought.

81 pts to be exact. For a guard to do that is insane.

Is Kobe better than Jordan....NO.

Could he be in due time? Maybe. The next 5 years will tell the tale.

I will say Kobe's offensive game is more dynamic than Jordans. Kobe is a far superior shooter than Jordan ever was or dreamed about being along w/ being better FT shooter.

kobe is a great player, not mj though. my opinion is that lebron is even better than kobe and i know he is ahead of kobe and mj at the age he is now. boston could not guard lebron with 1 person but they did guard kobe with 1 person (paul pierce). just my 2 cents worth.

There is just so much wrong in this post.

Kobe is better than Lebron. Even MJ says Kobe is far & away the best player in the NBA right now.

Lebron needs to learn how to shoot & how to hit clutch shots. Oh yeah work on those FT's too.

Boston's D was awesome in the series. I was very impressed, but if you think they played Kobe 1 0n 1 you are crazy. That was a TOTAL team defensive effort. Anytime Kobe penetrated he had 4 guys around him.

I feel its necessary to look at it in relative terms. First of all, Jordan was stronger than Kobe, and Jordan was more explosive relative to the rest of the league than Kobe is today because there is plenty more athleticism now than 10-15 years ago in the NBA imo. Kobe is a better shooter without question.

Also, Kobe comes off as a dick. He was fairly cool while they were winning, but true colors shined through as soon as Boston hit them in the mouth.

One of the biggest things that has nothing to do with ability...like you say that Kobe comes off as a dick...is so true.

Jordan embraced having teammates like Pippen and a long list of others as well as appreciated a coach like Phil. Kobe prefers to push everyone away who might take the spotlight away from him.

As I've said, his game is great...one of the best ever. But I could care less for him as a person and he has hurt his team many times with his actions. That alone separates him from Jordan, along with many other things.

As far as the best ever...I still put Bird at #2. Being 6'9 would still work today at small forward, and he was always one of the worst athletes on the court at all times. Yet for most of his career he was the best player in the league and could do so much. Shoot, rebound, pass, make his teammates better, come through in the clutch, FT shooting, etc.

Jordan was like Bird with incredible athleticism...
