During a trip through Colorado in December of last year, President Obama spoke of his intention to implement his economic policies with or without the approval of Congress. Said Obama, ?And where Congress is not willing to act, we?re going to go ahead and do it ourselves.? It now appears that such a mindset applies not only to economic matters but to the distribution of foreign aid as well--in particular, foreign military aid for the Muslim Brotherhood, who now hold the reigns in Egypt.

Congress has restricted and, in fact, halted military aid to Egypt until and ?unless the State Department certifies that Egypt is making progress on basic freedoms and human rights.? After all, Christians and other practitioners of non-Islamic religions have had a tough go of it there. And of course, many Egyptian officials harbor such hatred toward the U.S. that one of the candidates for the Egyptian presidency has openly referred to America as the ?infidel country? in media interviews.

Nevertheless, the news breaking now is that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will soon announce that President Obama will ?resume funding for Egypt?s military, despite Congressional restrictions and objections from human rights and democracy advocates.?

Even Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT), a man with whom I?ve never agreed on anything, sees the foolishness of this endeavor: ?I believe [sending the aid] would be a mistake. The new [restrictions were] intended to put the United States squarely on the side of the Egyptian people who seek a civilian government that respects fundamental freedoms and the rule of law, and to clearly define the terms of our future relations with the Egyptian military.?

Who knows; perhaps the Obama administration can also circumvent Congress and give the Iranians some nuclear materials or give Hamas some advanced weaponry? I know both ideas sound crazy, but they?re no crazier than giving $1.5 billion in military aid to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt?s recent military buildup on the Sinai Peninsula was not agreed upon with Israel and violates a peace treaty between the two countries, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said.

The Egyptian army massed troops in the Sinai Peninsula after at least 16 Egyptian police officers were killed and others wounded in a surprise August 5 armed attack on a police station in north Sinai on the border between Egypt and Israel.

?Today, the [amount of] forces and the armament deployed on Sinai have not been agreed upon with us and go beyond the frames of the military protocol signed in Camp David. We insist that everything must be shaped back in line with the protocol,? Lieberman said in an interview with the Israeli TV Channel Nine.

The 1979 peace treaty with Israel, signed in U.S. Camp David, limits Egypt's military presence in the area. The treaty also requires that any sort of military operation inside the Sinai should be carried out in cooperation with the Israelis.

In the wake of the attacks, Israel said it gave Cairo the go-ahead to deploy helicopters in Sinai to restore security in the lawless peninsula and close down tunnels used to smuggle contraband and weapons into the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

However, the ongoing Egyptian military buildup in an area Israel considers a strategic buffer zone has sparked concerns in Israel that Egypt may use its anti-terrorist operation as a way of retaining its military strength in Sinai.

This is politics RAY

its all about the Jews. There are so many rich jews in America that they probably run America if the truth be known.

So America has to defend Israel , we cannot let anyone fawk with them. Its easy to get money you need for your military. Move troops on the Israel border and threaten to invade.

Any American President even Williard if he can somehow win the election will do this.

They have no choice.

And if Isreal is stupid enough to attack Irans nuke sites, all hell is going to break loose.

I just read that Hezzbollah has 40,000 missles ready to fire at Israel. Iran has a very large supply of missles that will be fired at American bases in the middle east and elsewhere.

Iran will start the biggets war they can in a attempt to analiate Israel.

Ask yourself this RAY. How much money did America give to Israel in the past few years ?

Its many millions more than this to Egypt.

I hate to say this but if Willard wins the election I hope that Isreal attacks Iran and lets see what kind of balls he as when we enter World War III

I think I answered.

what say you RAYMOND ?

U.S. Military Aid and the Israel/Palestine Conflict

?The Cost of Israel to the American People?

The U.S. is providing Israel with at least $8.2 million each day* in military aid and is giving the Palestinians $0** in military aid during Fiscal Year 2011.

?Since the October War in 1973, Washington has provided Israel with a level of support dwarfing the amounts provided to any other state. It has been the largest annual recipient of direct U.S. economic and military assistance since 1976 and the largest total recipient since World War ll.

Total direct U.S. aid to Israel amounts to well over $140 billion in 2003 dollars. Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year, which is roughly one-fifth of America's entire foreign aid budget. In per capita terms, the United States gives each Israeli a direct subsidy worth about $500 per year. This largesse is especially striking when one realizes that Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita income roughly equal to South Korea or Spain.?

- John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt
"The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy"

Over the last 20 years, the U.S. has been slowly phasing out economic aid to Israel and gradually replacing it with increased military aid. Beginning in 2007, the U.S. has increased military aid by $150 million each year. By FY2012, we will be sending Israel $3.09 billion a year (or an average of $8.5 million a day) and will continue to provide military aid at that level through 2018. U.S. tax dollars are subsidizing one of the most powerful foreign militaries. According to the CRS report, ?[current U.S. military aid] grants to Israel represent 18.2% of the overall Israeli defense budget.?

Contrary to ordinary U.S. policy, Israel has been and continues to be allowed to use approximately 25% of this military aid to purchase equipment from Israeli manufacturers. According to CRS, ?no other recipient of U.S. military assistance has been granted this benefit.? Thanks in part to this indirect U.S. subsidy, Israel?s arms industry has become one of the strongest in the world. ?Between 2001 an 2008, it was the 7th largest arms supplier to the world with sales worth a total of 9.9 billion.?

In addition to military aid, the United States continues to provide Israel with additional aid and benefits. The numbers are not yet available for FY2009, but are likely to be significant.

By all accounts the United States has given more money to Israel than to any other country. The Congressional Research Service?s conservative estimate of total cumulative US aid to Israel (not adjusted for inflation) from 1949 through 2010 is $109.001 billion

...............................................................

America gives money to keep the peace.

Ron Paul should be elected immediately and this shit would have stopped.

Instead there is Willard slobbing who cant wait to help his millionaire buddys. and raise military spending on new wars.

The Iran war is going to be 10 years long.

The only way to stop Iran is to nuke them

So they nuke a country to stop nukes, What kind of criminal minds would think like this.
I will predict there is 70% chance of Israel dropping a nuke on Iran during the first year of starting a war with them.

No President escapes this Israel problem and I explained why above.

pity really
