glad to see everything is ok with you....
i'm not familiar with the ft. meyers area....is that on the eastern part of fla. or the western part of fla ?......do you live in a beach area ?
Thanks Al. Ft Myers is on the SW coast right on the gulf. The gulf is only a few miles from here, but there is no danger of storm surge where I live. Just regular flooding and of course wind. There was no surge, anyways, with this one(or during Charley for that matter) and even in Naples and Marco Island even though they both took huge hits and had much flooding.
There was a huge surge in the Keys and I believe they are still under water. (the streets)
The center of the eye hit 25 miles south from here and went sharply NE through the state, absoltely destroying Clewiston and parts of Immokalee which are both Orange Grove/Sugar Cane towns(inland, near Lake Okeechobee) with huge immigrant populations. Clewiston is still under a 24 hr curfew.
It came back out the other side around West Palm Beach and did huge damage in the 60 mile corridor from West Palm south to parts of Miami.
