this will be the toughest matchup memphis has seen all year.

kan has extra big bodies and they have 4 guards that seem to log a good amount of playing time.

the world got to see ucla's lack of speed tonight.

speed will be everywhere monday.

i truly feel that neither team has a huge adv in this game.

gl, to all.

Should be a great game E, you guys looked like you toyed with UCLA by letting them get even close! Memphis proved the naysayers wrong including myself, great unselfish squad!

Should be a great game and PK is probably the right line on this game. About as even as it gets. I agree with you, which was not the public sentiment who thought North Carolina would be the toughest game for Memphis State. I think Kansas is the toughest matchup possible in this tournament. Kansas is very quick and athletic and they pay defense. Should be quite a final.

"this will be the toughest matchup memphis has seen all year."

I have been seeing this statement the last 3 Memphis games..............

Somehow those "toughest matchup" have resulted in 20 pt wins...............

Should be a good game but KU is pretty careless with the ball.................

Kansas is and was better than UCLA all year. Texas was good but overrated...UCLA had been OK but really had problems throughout the year and just won a lot of close games but Kansas is legit. Kansas has been all year. I don't know why so many were so convinced that North Carolina would run all over Kansas. Kansas had been just as good or better all year.

mav, if you are right, i will gladly send you a shirt. i have been a fan for 30 years and i want this badly. i have a sore shoulder from the "chip" i have been carrying since we got the short end against lsu many years ago. four staters sat the bench w/ 4 fouls : dwight boyd, william bedford, baskerville holmes, vincent askew, etc.

I remember that team that lost to LSU. I believe it was in Baton Rouge as well. So much was expected out of that Memphis State team that had gone to the final four in '85. William Bedford was a great talent. Baskerville Holmes was also an amazing talent (what a sad story about how Baskerville Holmes life ended and William Bedford). Going back to '85 I remember how dominant Keith Lee from West Memphis was. I wasn't a Memphis State fan but I was 11 years old when they made their run in '85 (grew up in Arkansas and heard a lot about the Tigers). I remember those Memphis State - Louisville games vividly...they were some of the best. Most people don't believe I can remember those teams/games but I followed college basketball religiously always watching whatever games were on TV even at that age.

I heard Coach Dana Kirk is back in Memphis - I guess he has been for awhile now. He was truly a rebel. Do you think there was truth that he gambled on games? Anyway, sorry for the trip down memory lane but you got me going talking about those players from back then. I was and still am an Arkansas fan and remember playing Memphis State in the late 80s and all the way through the 90s but we didn't play those great teams that Kirk had.

vincent askew was the only starter on the floor for what seemed like the entire second half. sad story. memphis bet louisville's ass that year to. the eventual national title winner.

andre turner, i was on the phone last night with my buddy and he argued w/ me that turner wasn't on that team.

:drinky:

i knew turner was on that team. nice history. hopefully we can get this done and get a banner for the guys that played and couldn't get it.

btw, dwight stewart and corey beck - neither of them were recruited by finch - that hurt.

truly thought todd day and hardaway would play together, but arky got all 3 and a title.

Elvis............I want Memphis badly also as I have a very large future on them.............

The UCLA loss 2 years ago still stings as bad as any future wager I ever put in..........I still think Memphis had a better team that year than UCLA with 2 future first rounders in Rodney Carney and Shaun Williams playing terrible.(didnt help the game was in Oakland).......they are both having good pro careers.........They would have played LSU in the semi and then Florida in the championship.........They already beat UCLA in the season..........no reason to think they couldnt do it again...........

I had Memphis that year at 50-1 and you can see if they would have made it to the ff I would have had great possibilities............

Lets hope these Tigers can get it done Monday night and bring home the trophy..........:00hour

And I would love a shirt............:mj07:
