Ky Derby

I told friends before the Florida derby that Commandment was my Derby house. I took him at 14-1 the other day. Into Mischief and Orb is in his blood line, Cox and Ortiz Jr are two of my faves. The Puma which he ran down in the Fla derby is a nice horse as well.

I’m headed to Hot Spring to the oaklawn handicap to see Sovereignty, Journalism and Wnite Abarrio square off on the 18th.

It's funny how much I've gotten away from the horses in just the last few years. I still host a Derby party every year (this year will be the 22nd), but I have paid zero attention to the prep races. I'll still bet the Derby (and some of the undercard).

Just looked it up... I was surprised to see Into Mischief has sired 3 Derby winners, since his offspring tend more to be sprinters.

We visted Into Mischief at Spendthrift a few years ago. Apparently he’s mean as hell 😂. They keep stressing to us not to get close to him bc he loves to bite! Saw Authentic as well and he is beautiful.

I have one of those tiny fractional ownership shares of a filly, but she's on the West Coast, so I doubt I'll ever see her.
