with Atlanta as Off C vs Pats........outscored 25-0

tonight......................................outscored 21-0

46-0..........how is that possible.......:facepalm::facepalm:

I know its not all his fault but to be up 19 pts and 10 pts entering the 4th quarter and losing both:facepalm:

actually 19 scored against him in 4th vs NE but yeah he sucked.
Most notably i thought at the end of the 1st half letting the clock run out with 3 TO and a minute left, should have tried to score at least a fg.

Yes but they were outscored 6-0 in OT.......I guess I look at OT as an extension of the 4th quarter.......I was surprised at how well SF was running the football he started passing with the lead.

Another guy who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. Had the lead twice in the 4th quarter with the ball and less than 8 minutes, runs on 1st down picking up 5 yards each time then passes twice, completing none of the attempts and has to punt the ball back to the chiefs. S.F's bread and butter all year was running the ball. They were doing it effectively in this game, especially the outside run but they abandoned the run at a crucial time. Absolutely would have taken my chances with 2 runs on each occasion. Totally blame Shanahan. He fucked up the Atlanta/Patriots game and did the same here. S.F. had the game won. Never should have lost.
Just my two cents.

I even posted on fb that I hadn't yet forgiven him for the Atlanta debacle. That was absolutely the worst choke job I've ever seen and I've been watching (not to mention years of playing and still more years of video games) football for over 40 years. Nothing really that the players did...just horrific play calling when you've got the most brilliant coach/QB on the other side that you don't dare want to let back in the game.

Even after all the horrible calls....he got bailed out on what I think was a short throw and long run run by RB. Anyway, had ball near mid-field and maybe he can get credit for that. Next up, Julio Jones makes what should have gone down as the best catch in Atlanta Falcons history...possibly Super Bowl history. Up by 8 and their kicker has missed maybe one field goal all year. I said it before first down....run it 3 times and kick a field goal to win the Super Bowl. I think it was run, pass w holding call, pass, pass...whatever it was, I know the holding penalty sucked....they could have QB sneaked 3 times...it was like he blew the lottery money and then won again...and blew it. Just unforgivable play calling right there.

Not quite the same last week but similar. I totally agree...they've been running it all year. Up 10 w the ball and that outside run was killing KC. Before 1st Down I said out loud...well, KC does have one advantage...and I mentioned his Atlanta Super Bowl. 1st Down run for 5 yards and I thought it was over. Thought he learned enough to keep running. 2nd Down pass got tipped I think but wow....at least run it and see what you get...and run clock. 3rd and 2 means you can run it, play-action, maybe even a pass that ends up as a QB run. That 2nd Down play call was absolute stupidity esp after his previous SB.

And I get it, that he's the head coach now...but after gaining 5 yards, I would think he could make it known he wants another run. I don't know enough to know how play calling works for them...as in, who has what freedom etc...in a way I felt bad for him b/c it was only 10 points against a very dangerous offense but....you've been running all year and you just ran for 5 yards...you did KC a huge favor.

Great game and I was on the Chiefs big but yeah, late in the game I thought, SF has got this b/c they can run and Shanahan learned a lot from 3 years ago. Even his dad would constantly throw it from the 1-yard line. I get the logic but man...when you can run it, esp late in a game...take time off and safely gain yards, first downs, crucial field goals, etc.

As my dad would say....and he coached high school football for 20 years and was very Parcels-esque...I'd say he wants to be the smartest man in the room so bad that it makes him stupid. My dad would say...he's so stupid he stinks. haha...not sure where that phrase comes from but yeah, Shanahan is a great football mind but he can't manage a game and it cost him 2 rings.
