I didnt see the race but I did just see the chart. I know Repent was expected to roll but at 2 to 5 he only won by a nose. Is he overrated? Maybe the other horses are better than we thought but I suspect he's overrated.

Not sure if he's overrated or not, do know that the pace was slowed down on what has been slightly a speed favoring track. So do you interpet that as a good horse overcoming hard conditions to get the win, or one that barely beat inferior competition. I agree with you and will say he's overrated, personally waiting to see SAARLAND run again.

He might be a good horse but if McPeek keeps on putting him on a plane and then flying himback to Gulfstream he will have no horse left the first saturday in May. He has already made 4 flights in 3 weeks and there is probably more to come. Plus the horse had trouble changing leads again so thats a problem also. Anxious to see what Harlans Holiday does in the Fla Derby..
I'm more impressed with Harlan's Holiday at this point. Unfortunately, there were no other 1 1/16 mile races Sunday at the FG so we really can't compare. The fractionals didn't appear fast, but I'd like to see how the other horses from the race run next time out.
The horses from last year's BC Juvenile appear to be a sub-par group. I've already written off Johannesburg for the Derby, since you absolutely positively cannot win or even run well with only only one minor prep on the grass in Europe for the Derby. If we've learned anything from Baffert and Lukas, its that you have to train the 3 YO hard up to the Derby. Down the road it may not be the best thing, but that's how you get to the winners circle the first Saturday in May.
