Baylor -8 over Texas *****
Two teams with a combined record of 47-5 going at it here in Austin...but Baylor only has 1 of those losses.. Texas was ranked no 2 in the country but fell a few notches...they did give UConn a good game here,75-71 that I lost many boxes ***** thinking no way can the Longhorns stay with the Huskies...they stayed close but not enough to win...
Baylor is ranked 3rd in the country and Texas 6th..Baylor beat Texas by 25 points in a blowout back in Waco a month ago..Bears were up by over 30 and Texas had no answers ..Baylor has beaten Texas 16 of the last 17 times...but Texas under Alston has re-energized this program....last yr they came in 2nd in the B-12 and went dancing....but Baylor is a much better team...they lead the B-12 in 17 categories...that's on offense and defense...they are no 1 in the nation in scoring margin..+39 pts...2nd in offense avg over 90 pts...and on defense No 1..teams shoot 28% FG vs them...they avg 8 blocked shots a game..and are 1 or 2 in rebounding...there front line is led by 6'7 Brown who avgs a double double at 20 pts and 10 bds...Cox and Cohen inside can score and rebound...there gds are solid and don't turn the ball over...
Meanwhile Longhorns best players are there 2 gds... McCarty and Atkins...they are good and avg 13 and 14 pts...Mccarty is a 5'4 waterbug all over the place...inside they have Holmes and White... Longhorns do have an excellent rebounding team..that is one of there strengths..but as good as they are rebounding Baylor is much better...
Texas will have a big crowd tonite maybe bigger then the UConn game..but Erwin Center holds 19,000 to 21,000 I think..., [think 11,000} so there are still 8,000 to 10,000 empty seats...don't think home court is a big advantage...Waco is only an hour and half north of Austin...
Think maybe 1st half Longhorns stay close but in 2nd half the Lady Bears put them away for an easy double digit win

Did find out Niagara's top scorer wasn't playing...should of hedged the play but didn't...at least cut my play in half...but I'm to stubborn and paid a price...

Also predict that my daughter-in law who is a Baylor grad is 4 days overdue, has her baby here tonite. in Austin..since her alma mater is here in Austin I predict around 7pm Central time a Lady Cubbie arrives...I texted my son...we expect a call around 7 pm at the jump ball... Rosemary is on her way.... can't wait...going to teach Rosemary to go left..but my son is a lefty....
