Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Here is another general info site, a bit outdated in places tho. The discussion group is very active and can expertly answer many questions.

Cheapskate that I am, this site lists the current top 10 deals in LV. And more good general info elsewhere on the site too.

Buffet info here

Interesting newspaper article here on how car rental prices vary in LV more than almost anywhere. I signed up online for Alamo "quicksilver" service and avoided long ass line at airport to rent car on last trip. You can rent cars from various casinos cheaper--they don't charge (or shouldn't, be sure to check) the 10% airport rental tax.

Strip club info here.

How to get in topless bars free, and get nearly nearly free booze too!

Legal NV Brothel info here . Includes pics of some girls, including lovely and classy Amanda at Sheri's outside of LV.

Strip shuttle info

1-888-319-4655, ask for Sunset Station-to-Strip shuttle info.

It's been up and running since January last year.

Twice a day, seven days a week, departs Sunset Station 12:00 pm and 6:00pm.

Departs Tropicana Casino/Hotel to Sunset Station 12:30 and 6:30 pm.

for those more cheap and without a car, there is a city bus that stops at the mall across the street from Sunset Station and runs straight to Las Vegas Blvd south (from there you transfer to the Strip bus, which runs every 10 mins all the way up Strip to downtown). Info on the #212 Sunset bus here, it runs to a bit past midnight weekdays and weekends.

For the nostalgia minded there is a cool historic Strip map here , listing all places past and present with tons of links.

Here is a review of Amanda at Sherri's place, so who will be taking up her services???

:D
How was the party itself?
Not to get too graphic, but she is extraordinarily good at her craft. There were several times when I was frankly amazed that such a thing was possible. Wow.

What does it cost?
Frankly, I'm not going to say. I will repeat what I have seen elsewhere which is that it is well into 4 figures. When I first signed the voucher I was a little apprehensive as this is obviously a significant chunk of change, but I will tell you that, by the end of the afternoon, I thought that it was absolutely worth it.

Hey Terryray,

I've got a bunch of guys about 6-8 going to Vegas in April. How can we go about getting lower hotel rates instead of going through travel agents. Am I better of contacting the hotel directly or are there sites to get these lower deals. It's the first week of April and we are paying about $480 each for flight and hote at the Palms 3 nights, Thursday-Sunday.

Got a buddy going first week of May with a group $272 at NY NY? I'm pissed, I'm paying almost double. Is it due to the time of year or what? Any ideas, tips?

THANKS

SPITS

Newspaper piece here on why rooms are harder to get this Super Bowl Sunday compared to past ones. Triple digit increases on room rates at some places.

gotta like those prices Eric got for us!

note for Spits: it could be time of year, room rates do rise a bit when summer approaches. Rates can jump during busy times, like holidays or if any big conventions in town.

But NY NY does have published rates for basic rooms cheaper than Palms anyway. and weekends are more expensive (don't know if your friend staying thurs-sun). Regular players get better rates too.

My advice is to shop around for best deal on 'net, and calling travel agents. You might be able to get a better calling hotel directly, and then get just air only tickets thru agent. But the savings this way isn't usually that big.

The problem with Palms for a bunch of guys who want to visit Las Vegas is that it is off the Strip. Cab rides can add up tho the Palms shuttle to strip runs five times a day, it a bit of a hassle and doesn't run at night. It's lots easier to just stroll and ride up or down strip when you are staying in a place with good strip location like NY NY. Cheapest decent one is Imperial Palace.

I hope this helps. good luck and have fun!
