I'm back a bit early with tonight's late games to end the night on a good night but this should allow more input on all of the games which are AL games.

Tor/Ana
NYY/Oak
Cws/Sea

My goal is for the forum as a whole to get every bit of information available to get a winner in the late frame.

Let's get 'em

I like the Yankees tonight. Oakland doesn't hit lefties very well, they are only batting .252 at home and the Yanks are now somewhat rested after their west coast trip...

I am on the Yanks tonight...

I was guessing the oakland/new york would get the most press in this forum, and it might be a good thing. Tough to go against the hot A's, but if you were going to do it would probably be a good time to hop on the yankees with the money as the face the A's fifth starter.

I think the total may hae more of an angle in this contest.

liking Anaheim tonight- Toronto does not hit Ortiz well, and I think they have thrown in the towel for the year. Anaheim playing well, especially at home and trying for the Wildcard-

I've been doing for a long time now!

In the CWS/SEA game, I can only see going OVER here, as I'm sure SEATTLE will come out like gangbusters at some point, but their BP is in shambles and HAVE to be a bit leary of going in after SASAKI's all you can hit SUSHI platter last nite. I'm also leary of playing ANA tonite... TRUST ME, I watch this team almost EVERY single game, and they are playing with confidence and have the best BP in the MAJORS now... RAMON, my son's name too, is the MAN! I've been touting him for awhile and he's FINALLY coming thru. Only problem I see, is how many games can a young guy put it together BEFORE he thinks he's got it down... hence, bad game. HE's been GOLDEN four straight starts, and I'm just leary is all. TORONTO hasn't hit him EXCEPT STEWART AND DELGADO, but that's the HEART right there of TORONTO offense. ALSO, TORONTO is terrible at home and on the road VS LEFTIES, but are +870 on the road VS RH starters. AND lastly, the NY/OAK game HAD me leaning to NYY, based on TORRE chewing them out, going against 5th starter etc... UNTIL I saw HITCHCOCK's numbers vs OAKLAND... TERRIBLE according to SWAMI, but I haven't verfied, but is looks like 1-6 with a high ERA. THE only OUT, may be that since he's been in SAN DIEGO, that may have been long ago vs McGWIRE, etc... let me check!

I know, I didn't give any leans on this one, because I wanted you to chew some fat before getting to the STEAK!

How about the angels doing it for the gipper?

The last time word leaked that the Angels were working on a contract extension with their manager, in June of 1999, several players, in a mutiny of sorts, went to the general manager to object.

That was Terry Collins. This is Mike Scioscia.

"I don't think anyone is going to complain about Scioscia staying," center fielder Darin Erstad said. "If he's not deserving, I don't know who is." The team is negotiating to extend Scioscia's contract, which expires after this season but includes an option for 2002. Scioscia's future in Anaheim could have a bearing on Erstad's future in Anaheim. Erstad is eligible for free agency after 2002, and he said he would "definitely be more inclined to stay" if Scioscia remains.

"I've said it before, I'd love to play the rest of my career for Mike Scioscia," Erstad said. "He's far and away the best manager or coach I've had in baseball."

Burgh thanks for the kind words as i mentioned in your post I always check out your plays....

RC, I am not a big fan of the due factor....

The due factor is this team has won seven games in a row so they should lose....

Ortiz has been on fire, don't go against until the fire is out....and with the public knocking down this number...I have bought a ticket for the halo's train but have not got on board....

Can't argue with your selections, but you may want to also consider the following play, either on your own or whatever. Don't know if you're limiting the picks to two a nite or not.

ANA UNDER 9 is looking very good... Both pitchers in good form, LOAIZA at 3.26 ERA over last three, ORTIZ 2.57. LOAIZA has only been given more than 4 runs ONCE in last five tries, and with the way TORONTO hits ORTIZ, he can't expect that many. ALSO, last nite, ANGELS DID NOT hit the ball well, just lucky. They dropped in every duck, broken bat quail and such you can think of. YES, they got some good ones, but not the type of hitting to rack up 8 runs. They rarely support ORTIZ with a lot, giving him 4,4,5,6,1 in the last five and he's made them hold up against the likes of the YANKS and BOSTON BOTH ON THE ROAD in his last two. IF TORONTO wins this game, which I doubt, it'll be due to pitching and lack of OFFENSE from the HALOS, but I'm seeing another 4-2 Win for RAMON!

Also REMEMBER, if ORTIZ DOES LEAVE< ANA has the best BP in BASEBALL, even after last nite's disaster...

Based on ANA winning, I suggested the UNDER, due to ORTIZ pitching well. What I feared has happened, TORONTO got to him as he reverted to his "old" self and just challenged everybody with his fastball down the middle, and gave up 3 HR's in the 2nd, and yes, STEWART and DELGADO both went deep... he does this sometimes for whatever reason... now 6-1 and sucking. BUT, we just need to settle down, get the UNDER and the split. WE CAN DO IT!

Just like earlier, you were leary of METS and the way CARDS hit RUSCH, I was leary here. We're in sync, just not LISTENING to each other's gut rumblings...

Maybe we need to cut down on the burritos and beer!
