Colorado +144 over LA Pinnacle Jennings vs Carrara
I know this is a dog and many are picking the Dodgers but my data tells me this is way overpriced, doesn't mean it will win though. First off not recommending any one play this unless they like it themselves. Just giving my thoughts. I am listing all my plays to be recorded and I find I like this play and am on it so will print it here as well. Reasons I like it. First I like Jennings, it's my wife's maiden name for starters. But seriously this guys has pitched well against the Dodgers. His career shows us he is 3-1 lifetime against them and the Rockies are 4-1 in the 5 games he has started against them this year. Overall the Rockies are 12-5 when Jennings starts for them at home. For him to be 16-8 with a 4.68 ERA and pitch half his games in Colorado tells me he is capable. On the road and out of the "rarified air" he knocks over a full point off his ERA. I think he will pitch well tonight. Outside of teams playing to make the play-offs nothing motivates opponents more than playing the spoiler.
For LA they will bring a guy out of the bullpen to make his first start of the year. Since coming over to LA last year this guys has been fairly effective. He brings a 6-3 record in to tonight though it is all from the pen. The problem is he hasn't pitched more than 3 innings but one time all year. He went 5 innings once in his 69 appearances. Usually he is in an inning or two and that's his work for the day. As a starter tonight we will see a different situation. The guys has a career 5.18 ERA and most tend to find things are different when you work through the batting order a couple of times (if he makes it). Guys start figuring you out once they see your pitches. Plus he is not shy about putting men on base. He walks a guy almost every other inning, doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up especially when you average nearly a hit an inning as well. You don't want many ducks on the pond when you are facing a team that is hitting as well as the Rockies right now. They are crushing the ball! In their last 10 games they have been hitting righthanders at a .348 average, .328 overall. In closing since Carrara hasn't thrown more than 59 pitches all year you can rest assurred the LA bullpen will be called on for help. Though they have pitched well you like to get into the opponents bullpen early.
The last thing before you play it is MAKE SURE LARRY WALKER IS PLAYING. He's been sick with the flu but don't gamble if he is not in the line-up!!! I like the play and will count it as a loss or win either way but obviously without one of the most underrated hitters in baseball out of the line-up the play is not as strong. Good luck men.
