I have spent a great deal of time on the phoens today to 5 Dimes, Bet Jam etc--it has gotten down to only one way to depositi money with them--Western Union/Monehy Gram. Bet Jams transfer card is only for withdrawals and it sounded like today that having it as a deposit option will not become reality.
So what is the latest on Western Union--its been a long tiem since I used them--easy for the govt to track?--still safe and an good way to do it?--have to show any id?--do they ask what it is for? , etc. Thanks.

I would advise using Moneygram as often as possible rather than WU. Moneygram does bust my balls a bit by asking the receiver's complete address. Other than that, no problem. As far as WU, I have had deposits frozen until I provided personal info about the receiver. Recently, the WU Compliance Dept. has repeatedly called my home and cell...I have never answered and expect I have been blacklisted from further deposits and withdrawals.

other than direct withdrawal from my checking account (which can't be done anymore), making deposits & withdrawals by fed ex is my primary way of sending & withdrawing money offshore.

i just sent olympic money to bet the superbowl via fed ex.....it should take 2-4 days.

never had any problems sending money fed ex...plus they cover the charges.

i don't like western union....

when i first wanted to open an account offshore
(1999 ?) i went to wu & looked at their forms....i thought they were asking too many questions so i never used them.

i always used either fed ex, bank wire,or withdrawal from my checking account. only this past year i used neteller...but was uncomfortable using them.

so fed ex comes and picks up at your house ?

that seems very inconveniant to wait for them
to come.

I never use Fed ex. I use Prioity mail.

Wonder if US Mail will express mail to offshore.

no scott....i either go to the mail boxes etc. or a similar store that are both in my neighborhood.

you also can track the money via fed ex's web site.

AL,
You're a good guy but, how the fawk did you feel "uncomfortable" using neteller? so 99.9% of us who used it I guess felt we'd get ripped off yet zero did....I just dont get it, I can understand not giving credit card out, but opening a SEPARATE bank acct for gambling and give them the # is a big deal? wow, and you have told me in the past how I have to stop being cynical, and I have to not think everyones a bad guy   Obviously these things are personal instincts, I agree w/you on western union not b/c of the questions they asked (who cares, it doesnt go to the govt) just that the cashiers stared at me like i was a drug dealer or doing something unsavory and mysterious and i didnt like getting those looks....but jeez AL, thats a bit much to take, and you are saying there should be more ways to deposit, perhaps we can send cash in an envelope and not even include our name on there? :sadwave:

I have used Western union to send money to fund account all the time for years. usually not over 200$ at a time but sometimes several times a week. U can also send western union onlne via your credit card. they have never called me as of yet. I use first Fidelity sometimes and they offer western union payouts as well. I also use 5 dimes which I also deposit using WU

I have only used Western Union..........and have never had a problem (been doing it for almost 7 years now) but maybe that's because I am in Canada:shrug:

even now some books will send you your winnings by WU.....although that is getting tougher and tougher to do :SIB
