having tailed bumgarner since like his 3rd start (and will be big against him today), it seems that the scouts have fig'd something out with him. he's also up to 149IP this year, so his last two starts and all going forward will be career high in innings. he's a fastball/slider (62%+20%=82%) guy, which means his innings are more stressful than a guy like gavin floyd who throws 20% curveballs, 10% changeups, 60% fastballs+6% sliders.
latos since all-star break and "15-day DL"... 23IP, 26K, 11bb, 5ER including 6 shutout innings AT arizona. not like he needed a break. dude misses bats, and the giants are K'g at a not good 7/9ip. season-long WHIP of .99... just sick.

to the "due" argument... san fran's won 1 of 9 v SD this year. sure, they're due, but SD's the better team.
giants v latos:
Huff 0-9, Sandoval 3-9 2k, Uribe 1-9 1k, Schierholtz 1-8, rowand 1-7 3k, renteria 0-3, torres 1-3, velez 1-3.... all of them, 0 extra base hits.
i wouldn't worry about the pads bullpen, they have arms. the giants' pen isn't rested either, they've worked 38ip last 10 games.
Pads available bullpen:
Pitchers Rest G IP H R ER HR BB SO ERA WHIP GB:FB
Tim Stauffer (R) 6 18 35.2 26 4 3 1 8 26 0.76 0.95 55:21Edward Mujica (R) 5 44 52.1 41 21 20 12 5 56 3.44 0.88 53:41

no reason the phils, yanks, or cards should lose today. NONE. not playing that heavy juice though. risk 225 total. hitting just the 5inn or just the ML will cover the whole play. if i don't hit any of em, then i saved money from playing them individually. wow cardinals.

some solid BAs v sonnanstine in that orioles lineup. matusz has K'd 22 in 18ip v the rays the last 12 months, and only allowed 3hr in his last 38ip. the rays are struggling from both sides of the plate while the o's are scoring 5 runs a game under buck.

west is a flyball pitcher. cincy's not a good place for that. leake's a groundballer but has not had his A game lately and should get hit around a bit. think we only need him to give up 2 or 3 to get us over. with the exception of nunez, i don't fear the marlins bullpen in case we need a late run. and with uggla, gaby sanchez, hanley, stanton, there's always a good chance of a blast against the cincy young'ns out of the pen. should be a nice 100-degree day at the GABP today for reds fans while their guys keep pace with the cards.

bravos/redlegs +182 $.50

lad@atl und8.0 -130 $1.95 :firing: w+$1.50

buying up .5 here on each but love the play. lilly's really had his command, so has lowe, lately, and with the braves slumping and with DLowe's good history against this dodger lineup... i like the turner field crowd to be treated to another 2.5hour game.
