Thanks to Cubs and K.C. yesterday I had a forgettable day.

YTD 19-9 -6.48 Units

Today.....going with a parlay only:

Seattle (-220) (Has virtually owned Texas...Myette with nice 7.30 ERA..Seattle can not be happy about losing last night.)

Bost (-440)
(The managers are discussing spotting T.B. 5 runs to make this game a little more even.)

Oak +1.5 runs (-165) (Like this game to stay close and low scoring.)

Pit/Houst going over 9.5 (-145) (Runs must start coming in early...can not let either pitcher settle in.)
L 8-0 PIT could not get any runs. Nice.

1 Unit to make 3.84 Units GL today

Generally it is a good idea to make a straight bet anytime you are going to include a team in a parlay. I can tell you from personal experience that not following that tenet has cost me in the past. Winning $20 or so on Pedro for your $100 wager may not seem like much, but it is better than losing $100 on a parlay. GL.

OAK/ANA notes:

Although Lidle has not been up to snuff with his rotation mates (Zito, Mulder, Hudson) with a less than stellar 3-8 record and an ERA just topping 5, he has fared well vs. these Angels.

In six appearances vs. the Halos (5 starts), he is a very respectable 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA.

Ortiz, however, has been going in an entirely different direction against the A's. In back-to-back starts against Oak in April, Ortiz managed to give up 7 runs, 14 hits, and 5 walks over 12 and a third inn. In 5 career starts, Ortiz is yet to get a "V" against these pesky A's, going 0-4 with an inflated 7.07 ERA.

I like OAK to give Lidle a fair amount of run support in this one. I don't predict a high scoring affair...which especially favors Oak getting the run and a half. Unless the Angels pick today to fix their offensive problems, I don't see them winning this game and certainly not by two or more runs. GL today.

NICK, generally I agree with you. However, with the big vig and the possibility of a loss or two on any of these (given my wonderful luck lately) I would not feel bad only losing a C. It's a relatively small wager for me and I threw in Seattle and Bost just to provide a better payback. I hate betting such huge favs straight.

Appreciate the thoughts, though. I read your stuff on the free picks page with regularity. Since you are in L.A. area maybe we can catch a Dodger game or something? (and I am married...not gay...LOL)
