At some point, regardless of his motivation, doesn't this wackjob Conseco gain some amount of credibility if nobody in his book sues his ass for slander?

They can't sue him because : (have not read the book yet since It has not came out but will as soon as it does), but was around the game long enough and have friends and players still playing and coaching and most of what he will say on juice will be true. Might not be able to prove it now but I know how easy it was back then to get it as well as pain killers or most anything you wanted. hell would love to see long gone juan try and sue i almost fell over when he said he never touched the juice, If you go back in I think sosa thread i said back is the first to go well what has been his major problem last 4-5 years i think it is his back if I remember.

Fletcher I would be interested to know what kind of percentages of players you think use it. I go back and forth, sometimes thinking a good majority of them do to maybe just a small percentage. I know some of these guys get pretty jacked up looking, but saying that I know guys that look like that and have never touched anything except for supplements. What I don't understand is how Bonds body hasn't broken down if he's such a big time juicer.

PS you don't have to answer this if you don't want. I'm not trying to get you to say something that others would be pissed about. I'm just curious. To be honest i really don't care what they use.

I have no problem in saying what I saw and think, When I played and coached in ncaa and minors which now in minors for a few years now they have got tougher but they watch chewing tobacco and snuff more in the minors the juice still to this day. well in from 1980 to 1995 most colleges i was at in d1 and d2 was about 45% of players i had and played with, trust me coaches know this stuff I did and you just act like you know nothing, it was very big in the gulf south conf. it came the juice right outside of Atlanta from no other then the pro wrestlers and the gyms they used, one of the biggest names who sold it to on guy from each team was a top tv name in the business not going to say his name, then baseball i will stand behind this 55-60% of all players have or do use some type of juice to help more for rehab of the body during such a long season, that is the main goal of guys who take it , it is used so body can recover faster and not break down as much. Bonds do i think he is on some, hell yes but also think he has stayed to a unreal diet and other supplements and stretching and work out program more then any player out there and this keeps him from having lot of back problems and knee and shoulder trouble. he i bet uses less then you think and has gained lot and maintained what he has with the legal stuff, well legal for now things you and I can not get thought and his diet and workout are 2nd to none. like i said before i hear all the bs abouts bonds i said i think he has used it but also think his other things that are ok now but might not be at some point that he gets and you and i can't buy + his diet and workout program is 2nd to none, he has made his training a profession in itself.

It is high and will always be high no matter what they say, and it is not always the biggest guys out there who are using it, you can't always go by size and looks trust me , different things make body and react to body in different ways, track is the number 1 sport i promise you with the most juice use.

It is used in many sports for many different things some size, some for speed some for strength and over all for faster rebuilding of body and to prevent body of break down during a season. Hell I knew swimmers who used it. Like I said you can't go by size all the time or even half the time, hell createain will make your body and head bloat up like a ball just like juice does ,it holds water between the muscle and skin in the body it is a big time fluid holder and the fluid gives you the size look and big head look. it is used by almost every player in hoops, baseball and football where i coached. hell the school paid for it right from the company who sales it and would get a great price because was baught in baulk the createain not juice. it will one day be pulled and be banned you watch in the next 5-10 years if not sooner it will be pulled off the market. Till the test every 2 months at least year around it will never go away and many ways to beat test, it cost lot of cash to do a top of the line test like the olympics use about 250 a pop regular like a simple piss test 45 bucks and easy to beat, and there will always be ways to beat the test as fast as a new one comes out someone will have a fix on how to beat it the next day 8 out of 10 times. this is not somthing new in sports just more people talking about it now, but has always been there for last 30 years in sports, hell i seen and used stuff called bute for a bad arm or sore leg or back it is used on race horses any one who has horses or is a farmer will know what bute is, it was banned in early 80's and still used they should see how many players are on laysx if your on jucie your on laysx 90% of the time, it mask it and get rid of water big time.

Fletcher, do you every see a guy change from one season to another that may indicate something going on? I know players have break out years, but I guess I am wondering if juice is that big a difference maker that fast? I look at a player like Jack Wilson, ss for the Pirates have a great year all of a sudden. I know there is no way to truly know but just interested in your thoughts when you see someone all of sudden play as well as he did when in previous years he just didn't show this kind of production. Last year batted .308 with about 600 at bats while in 02 batted .252 and in 03 batted .256 with just under 600 at bats each season. His total bases jumped from 197 in 03 to 299 last year. As a fan I am hoping his production stays up naturally but find it surprising to all of a sudden play this well after 3 years in the bigs. Thanks

I think jack had a better year then before because he is learning the game better, he was brought up earlier then bucs wanted but had the glove bat they knew would take sometime ,, which always does when your young in the show, i think he will be a 265 275 hitter for life had a very good year but think that will be one of the better years with the stick you will see from him. i don't think he would mess with it, like i said size is hard to go by but a good ex of a guy and he can say all he wants was brady anderson the one year he was ripped like a body builder and it did help his number as well as his mind, if you think you have a edge you will have a edge in baseball, baseball you either have the talent or you don't can only get so much better in it once you make the minors and up . But what you carry upstairs can make you a much better player. brady did it for 2 years and his body broke down fast, some people it will mess with fast and hard others it will never bother them for life, just depends on what you do, where you get it from, and how you do it. Lot of research needs to go into to taking juice and you need to balance diet with higher protein less simple carbs and work out hard it is not a wonder drug , work must be done and knowing what you need it to do and what mixes with what is key. But don't think jack did or would know him some what from his younger days and know his have spent time with and around his family so i fell pretty sure he would never come close to it, he is a hard worker very smart play , glove and hands are unreal but bat I an bucs new would be slow when they brought him up and last year he was the year he caught up and think he will go down and stay around 275 if he can do that , bucs would be more then happy he is glove and hands man, bat is extra for him. I waited all year for him to drop and slump off, he is not a 300 hitter so like I said think he will settle around 265-275 and play great deff which is all bucs want him to do, he is a very smart ball player and will be around a long time. Hell bucs need to get more lh power that field is built for lh power , and they have had a few old timers they could of kept who hit 18-28 their last year with pirates and pirates let them go and could kept them for nothing almost, one was stairs yes he has some major holes in swing but he put up numbers even being out a lot of games last year at pittsburgh, then as a power guy not from that side of plate but sanders hit 28 i think last year in Pittsburgh maybe 30 and he wanted to stay and was willing to stay cheap very cheap and they let him go like they always do and he has held his own since they let him go.

I appreciate your insight on Jack and couldn't agree with you more about Matt and Reggie. Remember Sid Bream, now that one hurt as he too wanted to stay in Pittsburgh for next to nothing yet they wouldn't keep him. He ended up scoring the winning run for the Braves to send them to the WS in 92 I think. My buddy Barry threw like a three hopper to Spanky at the plate and Bream scored from second with 2 outs. The guy was just about in a wheelchair with his bad knees but he beat the throw. Still Sid has been one of my favorite Pirates but he killed me that night. I am still pissed the Pirates let him walk that season. Glad Jack is just maturing and not juicing from your estimation. I just love the game and I appreciate the guy who is trying to play it right without cheating, even though he may lose his job to someone who is cheating.

McGuire has come out (he says for the last time) and stated that he has never used anything illegal.

I don't think he had anything to say when ask about a possible lawsuit. :mj21:

Word off the radio...

There may be some lawsuits in the working. I think some of the players talked about in the book are throwing out some test lines.

If they do sue, legal experts are saying that it's open season for the defendant's attorney (Jose's). Any and all questions will be asked and checked out. From what drugs they did do and how, to what else or whom else is involved or a user. Powderkeg time. Don't think other players are willing to sh*t all over baseball and bring other players down just to come after Jose for some possible slight of truth in his book.

What about lawsuits from someone like Mike Greenwell, who missed out on an MVP award and no doubt $ millions of lost revenue because of an admitted cheater? I would think someone like him would have a case, or is that not possible?

As the resident lawyer, Greenwell has no case. Aside from the fact Canseco owes him no duty and there is no legal claim to be made, he has admitted he knew Canseco hjuiced then so even if there was a legal claim he would be dead on statute of limitations.

As for McGwire etal, they will never sue. First, they will get creamed when they have to testify. Second, my guess is most of the allegations are true. The las tthing they want is a jury to agree. It is much easier and safer to just say Canseco is a buffoon and hope it goes away.
