TB/NYI - Lindback has a long way to go to showing me he is a legit number one goalie for a team. He was the back up in Minny and it will be interesting to see if he can handle the workload of a number one goalie. I wouldn't be surprised to see Garon get the nod in Washington on Tuesday night. Isles showed me what I thought they would, nice balanced scoring, solid D and very good goaltending by Nabokov. TB stormed back in the 3rd after getting ripped by Boucher during the 2nd intermission but too much too late after getting down 4-0.

Jets/Bruins - Should have known the Bruins would have a bit of a letdown after getting up big for the Rangers two nights before. Bruins are a classic team that gets up for the big clubs but plays down to the level of their competition. Jets dont score much on the road and might be a good under play on the road.

Blues/Preds - Rinne stood on his head for the Preds and once again Nashville played well at home, they really bring it on homeice. Elliott was solid when needed for the Blues in goal after coming in for Halak who didnt have a strong night.

Sabres/Leafs - I will admit, I only watched about one total period of hockey in this one. The Sabres PK was the difference tonight as the Leafs were 1 for 7 on the PP. Leafs absolutely dominated the Sabres in the faceoff circle winning 45 of 64!! The outshot them and generally carried the play from what I saw. Leafs deserved a better result but Miller came up big for the Sabres.

Sens/Panthers - Domination.......end of story! I keep saying this the last few days, but ride teams that had alot of players play during the lockout! Sens had the most of any team and it showed again tonight. Two posts, two crossbars and a couple of beauty glove saves by Theodore kept this score from getting out of hand. So much balance with the Sens 4 lines as they got goal scoring from all their lines, now that says alot about a teams depth. Florida on the other hand, like I mentioned in my thread about why I took Ottawa......their top 2 lines folded up nicely......too many spectators with the Panthers forwards because when the going got tough......they folded up quickly......bad match up with the lines the Sens could send over to neutralize the Panthers.

Wings/Jackets - Detroit scored a late goal to tie it but Bobrovsky held his own again for the 2nd straight game. I love Jack Johnson back on D for the Jackets and if CLB continues to get goaltending they will make some of us nice dollars when hitting them in the right spot as a dog. They wont get much respect. Wings on the other hand, struggled in soooo many areas again and their youth is what has them going backwards a bit, too many mistakes and their defensive zone coverage was atrocious again!

Ducks/Flames - Tale of 2 games in this one. Ducks get out 3-0 and dominate the first 15 min. then the Flames really turn it on for the next 25 min. of the game. Ducks really outskated the Flames in the third period and had Calgary on their heels alot. Bouwmeester and Giordano was soooo horrible tonight going a combined -5 on defense. Not what you want from your workhorses. I really like the depth of this Ducks squad and their D has it all in my eyes. Mobility, size and toughness! Cam Fowler is a stud for the Ducks!

Thanks for the kind words, means alot! I saw your plays last year, you know your hockey! I agree with you on the Ducks, totally flying under the radar which is fine by me. Look at the prices for them so far in the first 2 games, just incredible! I love the Pens like you this year to come out of the East.

As for the write-ups, I am truly trying to help everyone on here as much as possible. I want to get info out there to everyone that maybe they can use to help them win some $ or save betting $ on a team they shouldn't.

You and I are going to be on alot of the same games on Tuesday night!! GL my friend!:0074

Da ? But does -.5 mean 1st period.. ala jasonX

There are first period lines out there on sides and totals. So if the game is tied after the first period and you have the fav -.5 goal, you lose. I hope that helps.

Now some people bet -.5 in reg. to save playing heavy juice on a big fav.

Carolina - ML(-135) for 2 Units
Canes are going to be surprised in the East this year after a down year last season. I love to go with teams that have a very strong 1-2 punch up the middle and that they have with Jordan and Eric Staal. Plus this team has been off since Saturday, that helps with the shortened season. Ward will want to redeem himself after getting yanked after allowing 4 quick goals in TB.

Flyers - ML(-104) for 2 Units
Devils have lost their leadership in Parise and somehow made Salvador their captain, Brodeur already started to show his age last year but had a nice playoff run.....still being off 9 months at 40 years old for a position that requires so much more than a forward or defensemen, I am not sold at all on the Devils. They were lucky to leave Long Island with a 2-1 in on the weekend. Flyers are already battle tested having played the Pens and Sabres. Devils have owned the Flyers over the last few years but this Devils team is soooo weak at the forward position that the Flyers depth should be more than enough to win!

Stars - ML(+115) for 1 Unit
Tempted to make this a 2 Unit play as well. Wings are even more depleted on defense after losing Colaiacovo for a few weeks. They signed Huskins today and he is hopeful to play tonight, regardless this is a team that has no anchor on the blueline for the first time in 20 years and no legit number 2 on defense. Stars are a young team that also has a nice mix of vets.

I like MTL alot in terms of match ups and having Florida on back to back night while they were rested but not sold on them with the new system and their coach.

I will be back between 815-830 with late plays!

Hawks - ML(-125) for 2 Units
Blues playing 3 in 4 nights and I love the jump by Chicago to start the year. I think the Hawks forwards cause the Blues defense trouble, not the greatest match up for them when you look at the Hawks top 2 lines.

Was listening to diff radio shows online today, one mentioned the road teams are 15-10-1 entering tonight.....something to keep an eye on!

The Columbus Blue Jackets are going to be one of the first teams to feel the bite of the 2013 season. Starting Wednesday night, they will play seven games in 11 days in three different time zones.
