You could be right like I said he has one hell of a choice, if he was from mid west and they were both about same distance away I would say it is a yes but like I said the family thing is big, he i think it shows rich is doing a good job when i kid is down to 3 schools usc osu and wvu, that is some good company. I named my reasons why usc would be a good choice, and know why he likes wvu and he really loved ohio states coaching staff he said it 3 days ago again, that is like the 6 time since he has been there to visit, I still lean to osu, not being a fan but looking at it as a player everything but distance i would be looking to go to sc over both, like i said great chance to win 3 in a row hell could win a cuople in next 4 years for the reasons i said, I think this upcoming team will be the best yet and they have a great class coming in. i use to tell home sick guys who were ready to leave and most did your only a 2.5 plane ride away from how usc would only be 5 hours, if a lid is going to be home sick only thing he can do is leave and find a college in a toen a 30 min drive from home, and in fb as the same with baseball both year around with summer work outs spring real work outs and fall games baseball spring games starting in late jan or feb 1st for teams in south and west, but the point is with all that then classes and weight training they could be close to home and unless they live at home they will still not have time to go home every week, but hard to explain that. i would pick usc though not being a fan looking at it from a over all what would be best down the road for his future, at wvu he could set some ncaa records at usc won;t happen to balanced on off but what would you rather have a nc riing or shot at one or a shot at personal record of some kind if he stays healthy, me I would go for my shot at the ring hands down, sats will still be a problem need to score higher. like i said will see feb 2 you have sc I have osu and wilson has wvu, don't get me wrong i would like to se him at wvu but they have 2 red shirt freshmen , 2 shohs and a jr who can all run and have a good shot with those guys at having 2 go over 1000 yeards like the year before so it is not a make or nreak guy for them, they need a few more line men set everywhere else.

but I would not be telling the truth if i said i would not go to sc for the chance at the ring maybe 2 in the 4-5 years he would be there because they are loaded with the class they are bringing in, i stand behind what i said i think this will be the best team yet in their mini run. just need to make sure he passes his classes first year with that sat they will all be perp classes so they won't count towards the degree, but lets be honest i have seen him more then most live 4 times this year 3 last year thanks to fox ny and yes network out of people on here unless they live by north bab. he will be looking pro IMO after jr year, i said it look it up before you had really heard of him back in mid sept said he was the new earl campbell. only weakness and it can be worked on is catching the ball, he can run has a nice burst of speed great power and can block. either way i will get to see him play thanks to dtv but being out west would see him more at sc, the kid is special very special type of back. if you would of seen the games i saw it was like a pro back playing against hs kids, he would drag 3-4 guys 5 yards with him a few times he broke loose from those gang tackles.

one thing is for sure one of use 3 will get it right. have a good weekend super fan:D

No One Knows

There was word that running back Jason Gwaltney of North Babylon, N.Y. was going to take one final unofficial visit to West Virginia this weekend, but Gwaltney said he stuck around at home.

"I didn't go to West Virginia this weekend," he said. "I'm sticking with my schedule. I'm going to be making my announcement on Tuesday."

When asked if he knew what school he was going to, Gwaltney, who had his last in-home visit from a coach on Thursday, was adamant that he didn't know yet.

"I absolutely do not," he said. "It's still the same three schools. I'm not sure right now, but I'll know by Tuesday."

Oh yeah forgot to tell you, Gwaltney will be announcing his LOI to USC along with Cushing on ESPN news.

I have been told this years USC recruiting class will be better than last years recruiting class which had set all time recruiting records as being the best class ever.

That all said, if I was Gwaltney, I would go to Ohio St. However, between USC and West Virginia, I would choose USC hands down.

Again Scott- Don't believe everything you read on Rivals. He was in Morgantown...he is playing this thing up...he was indeed in Morgantown with his family. He will announce at 5:20pm on ESPNews and announce to the whole world that he is choosing WVU. He wants the rock 30 times a game starting in September...where elese can that happen but the the #5 rushing school in the NCAA. Cushing is going to BC...looks like PC is not a closer.

Long Island seniors' college commitments

Jason Gwaltney will play football at West Virginia next fall, a family source has told Newsday. Gwaltney made his decision, which he plans to make official tomorrow morning, late Sunday.

Long Island's all-time leading scorer and rusher and two-time Hansen Award winner, made his decision after months of contemplation.

Gwaltney had narrowed his choices to West Virginia, USC and Ohio State. He will announce his decision tomorrow at a press conference scheduled in the North Babylon High School auditorium at 10 a.m.

"It's been a very long road to make a decision," said North Babylon coach Terry Manning. "No, let me change that, because it's been a ridiculous road to a decision. It's been very stressful on the kid and Team Gwaltney. We've investigated and checked out every school to a tee. And I know he's put a tremendous amount of energy in making the right choice and that he's comfortable with his decision. But he did change his mind like 16 times so until he signs that piece of paper -- I'm not convinced he's going anywhere."

Gwaltney, who'd made a verbal commitment to West Virginia last year, was visited by coaches from all three schools last week and spent the better part of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday trying to decide which school best fit his needs.

"I've had such a tough time making a decision because everyone involved has been so accommodating and made such a great presentation about their school," Gwaltney said. "There are so many reasons why I should go to USC. And so many reasons why I should go to Ohio State. And West Virginia started recruiting me when I was a sophomore. I have changed my mind so many times."

"I didn't sign at the Army All-American Bowl in Texas because I still wasn't sure," Gwaltney said. "I've gone through post visit syndrome. Every time I visited a school -- I'd come home and rave about the place and tell my people that I want to go there. Then, after the visit wears off, I start to think and get confused."

Gwaltney detailed the postives and negatives about each of his three suitors.

"There was really no bad in any program," he said. "I needed to find the program where the shirt fits just right."

Gwaltney may have found that fit when he bought himself a plane ticket and flew down to West Virginia on Friday and spent two days off campus in Morgantown. The unofficial visit gave Gwaltney an opportunity to give West Virginia one more look.

Scooter Berry, Gwaltney's half-brother, will also play for the Mountaineers.

Gwaltney is still coming to USC!

I know for a fact JG has verballed to Pete Carroll repeatedly and Carroll has told him to keep it quiet until signing day. Now this doesn't mean he is 100% lock to USC, but my money is still on USC! Distance/family could sway him or whatever. All recruits can change their mind 100x but only thing that counts is where they sign their LOI. JG will be signing to USC. Lets see how this thing plays out.

Funny thing is I care more about being right (JG to USC) then him actually attending USC. This guy is not gonna make a difference at USC next year. 3 years ago JG not coming to USC would have ruined my day. I know USC is going to sign 3 RB"s in next years recruiting class whether JG comes to USC or not. That is why I said if I was JG, I would sign with Ohio St.

That said, I prefer the bigger stronger RB's and hopefully USC is fortunate to land this recruit. Ohio St. fans are obsessed over him and it is quite comical.

How? I said and still say he is coming to USC. I knew 3+ months ago Turner the #2 WR in country from TN verballed to USC yet Caroll told him to keep it quiet and he did. TN is a state with lot pressure to stay home. This is what Carroll does with all out of state recruits.

Same thing with Gwaltney. JG seems like a kid who loves the spotlight and now he has EVERYBODY tuning into his press conference. He very well may declare to WV, but my money is on him signing with USC.

Cushing is coming to USC as well. His Dad wants him at BC, but Cushing and his Mom love USC. USC will sign him as well despite his Dad pressuring his son to stay closer to home.

Here is another one to blow your mind. Carroll will sign the #2 DE recruit Moore from the south. He was considered a lock to stay close to home and super heavy lean to Miami and he will suprise everyone and declare for USC.

If USC indeeds signs all 3 as I predict, I will be in awe of Carroll. Nobody takes the top recruits from IN STATE and OUT OF STATE at this rate. Unbelievable. Lets see how it all shakes out.

Scott - I have to jump in here on two things: 1) As of this afternoon JG still has not declared where he is going and although people are reading many different reports I think he will end up at OSU or WV. Aside from that I can't understand why you are saying it is 'comical' about OSU fans wanting JG. If he does go to USC are you going to just pass it off as another recruit? All we will hear about, once again is you touting a #1 recruiting class even if that is not the case. The bottom line is that OSU has put together another solid recruting class w/out JG and there is much hype for the upcoming season...2) Cushing, if you know anything about him, has ALWAYS wanted to play for Miami and they would be ranked #1 as his choice with USC #2 and BC#3. Also, there are a lot of papers here in NJ who say that Jarrett is unhappy and misses his family. Would not be surprised if he transfers this season. The same is being said about WR Fred Davis who told family members after the season that he is 2nd guessing not staying in Columbus.

What is comical is the Ohio St. message board. Not the program or their recruiting. OSU is fine program and Tressel is having a good recruiting class. Whenever I am bored or have free time I go read the Ohio St. message boards and they are obsessed with USC and recruiting. Its hilarious to read their threads. That is what I was referring too. No dis-respect to OSU program.

If he chooses USC, great if not I do not really care. I must admit I am guilty of wanting him to come to USC because I will enjoy seeing the meltdown on the OSU message boards. I also will be right in my prediction. USC doesn't need any RB's to be great this year so I am not overly concernced about this "HYPED UP" recruit. If he chooses USC, then USC's future is even brighter.

2) Cushing, if you know anything about him, has ALWAYS wanted to play for Miami and they would be ranked #1 as his choice with USC #2 and BC#3.

WRONG! Cushing has USC #1 and his Mom has USC #1. Cushing's Dad doesn't like USC because of distance and wants him to play at BC. Cushing has verballed to Carroll repeatedly and Carroll has told him to keep it quiet. Only reason he won't go to USC is because of his father. I expect a Cushing LOI to USC. I would much rather have Cushing over JG so I will be bummed if USC does not sign this talent. This kid is special.

Also, there are a lot of papers here in NJ who say that Jarrett is unhappy and misses his family. Would not be surprised if he transfers this season.

Wrong again. Jarret was homesick early in the season but he got over that quick. He is not going anywhere. Did you see his performance in the OB? I am 99% sure he is staying at USC for 2 more years then off to the NFL.

The same is being said about WR Fred Davis who told family members after the season that he is 2nd guessing not staying in Columbus.

Carroll did not allow Davis to go to the OB game because he was late to practice. Davis has been in trouble all year for being late. This is an example of a prized recruit who is immature. Carroll straightened him out and he is not leaving either. He had meeting with Carroll 2 weeks ago and everything is fine. Some kids need to mature. Lets say I am 75% sure he does not transfer.

As for the article you posted. Its bogus. No quotes from JG and JG himself said the article was wrong and never should have been printed. Doesn't mean he is or isn't going to WV, just that the article is bogus. The sources are family and coaches but not JG. Therefore its bogus. I still think he is going to USC despite everything said. Lets see if my BOLD prediction holds up.

Here is the link for the article on Cushing...

http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/localCheck?linkId=887161

Having seen him played in person I can tell you that this kid is a freak and a GREAT talent. I am searching to see if I have any of the articles also talking about Jarrett although it is referenced in this one. If you hear something about a USC propect you shout it out to everyone... I am only telling you what I have read and heard about both Davis and Jarrett. As for you stating the other article is bogus, suit yourself. I agree he is not quoted but typically when something like this is leaked by a family member/friend they want the first credit for the story. Take it for what it is worth and we will see tomorrow. Trust me that I don't have the free time to make up an article like this and would not bother posting it if I thought it was bogus...

I would LOVE to see OSU versus USC in a title game next year. OSU has Texas, along with a tough in-conference schedule so if they run the table I will be surprised. QB play and developing a solid running game will be key. Throw in having to replace All-American K Nugent and it is not as easy as it may appear.

JG said the article was bogus. Doesn't mean he is or isn't coming to WVU.

Me too. USC vs OSU would be classic. ROSE BOWL! NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! GREAT RIVALRY! 2 top notch programs with great tradition.

BUSH vs GINN! Now we are talking! Peterson was a no show in the OB. Told everyone he was overhyped. AP is still great but he was the 3rd best RB in the OB.

Wish Ginn came to USC! USC was so close. Ginn is the type of player that could let OSU hang with USC if USC is a more dominant team. Thats how great he is. He can make plays. Tressel will need to improve OSU offense a ton and for some reason he plays things close to the vest until late in the year. I learned hard way betting Michigan big over you guys!

Can't wait for Texas vs OSU matchup. Wish USC could play Texas in OOC play. I am hearing USC might play Louisville and that could be a very scary game for USC.
