Les Miles deserves to be fired for the simple fact that his team was too busy walking around when there was 1 second on the clock. That has got to be the worst coaching in clutch time that I've ever witnessed.

#1 who cares who the penalty was on. There is 1 second on the clock and you need to snap the ball regardless. Instead, you're too busy waiting for an explanation from the ref?

As a football fan, that was an extremely painful finish to watch. I thought to myself "wow, 11 poorly coached kids who are clueless right now."

The only way they could have got the play off was if they snapped the ball when the ref blew the whistle.

a ham sandwich.

even the sandwich would know that, regardless of the outcome of the discussion, your team needs to be ready on the ball. miles should have been paying zero attention to what was going on with the refs, telling his oc to get a play called, and getting the team lined up and ready to snap the ball.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Watching that unfold just shows me how alert, aware, and prepared he has his team and coaching staff.

Trust me. I'm a big fan of the mad hatter, but this team has too much talent to be struggling to have not scored a single point in the 4th quarter this year. There comes a time when a team needs a new voice, and LSU needs a new voice.

I "lol" at the "who can come in and replace Les Miles?" comments. Please tell me the last time LSU was relevant on the national championship level, without the use of the internet ;) On top of the fact that sometimes it's not even about that. When it's time to go, it's time to go.

College football being the business that it is demands that LSU keep Miles until there is a replacement available with..

equal or better recruiting skills

equal or better resume with top money making football programs

resume includes

11 straight winnings seasons a LSU

.776 winning % while head money maker for LSU

2 BCS appearances

1 BCS Championship

see ya just can't shit can the money maker without another proven moneymaker coming to the school to make them even more money..It can't be less money it can't be less wins and it can't be Joe Smoo off the ferris wheel..

Cuzzzzzzzzzzzz they ain't accepting anything that doesn't make them more money.

On the course!
Discipline isn't a strong suit among youngsters in the NAACP. I mean NCAA.

They can choreograph their touchdown celebrations, and organize how they will protest the National Anthem, but simple preparedness for the job at hand is too much to ask.

If that is your parameter, every coach but Nick Sabin should be fired. Wonderful.

Right on queue...

http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...iles-12-seasons-name-ed-orgeron-interim-coach

Bet LSU finishes the season in the top 15

And USC is gonna see why they should've retained Orgeron in the first place.

will need to go 7-1 and hope other majors trip up along the way

9-3 last year and ranked 16th in the final AP poll

20th in the CFP

17th in the bogus coach's poll

we shall see but mighty tall order for a team that hasn't covered a line this season and has been the fav in all 4 of the games...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....the chitter chatter should be awesome on talk radio Monday

7-1 to finish in top 15? I don't see that as necessary.

Anyways, their next 3 games are winnable, which if they win 3 in a row, they'll quickly be in the top 25.

4 of their last 5 would be the worry. They got Bama and Ole Miss at home. Their defense is clearly good enough to keep them in games. Hopefully Ed O gets that offense back in sync.

Let's not forget, LSU is an SEC team, so all they need to do is show up and they get in the top 20 in the polls. If they salvage a winning record at all they can hit the top 15 just because "well they have a tough schedule, they're from the SEC ya know"

I know Miles is a punching bag for a lot of people and he was fired today but is anybody looking at Brian Kelly and how poor his team has performed, losing to a bad Duke team at home, looking miserable vs Mich State the week before...He fired the scapegoat DC today so he will probably get a pass from the national media...
