The best sports handicappers normally don't bet week one in the "League Where They Play for Pay." They normally like to let a week go by to let the public and the oddsmakers overreact and get some value on inflated lines. Like Betty Ford always said why wait until happy hour when there is a perfectly good bottle of rubbing alcohol here now? Sure I know the lines are very tight with none over 6.5, but I'm a believer that the oddsmakers get better like the teams as the first few weeks go by. I think I have a few bad lines exposed.

How can you bet against the super bowl champs opening the season with all the hype that surrounds this gala tonight? I'ts like a mini superbowl. When the smoke from the fireworks of the pregame clears in the dome. I don't think I need any points with the Saints, but god damn if you want to give me 6 I'll take them. Trust me when I tell you the Saints have the better game coach. The Colts also lost a ton of players off this team. The biggest concern is Left tackle, with Glenn retiring. Defense lost its player to free agency and the Saints should be able to run wild and brees should be able to pick this team apart.
Colts and manning got their trophy and they will be a little hung over tonight. Saints will score 35. I think it will be enough to win. I know it will be enough to cover.

I don't disagree at all with the Saints pick. I just can't bet against my own team. I think the Aints score around 27-30 tonight....but I hope the Colts get a little more.

And you are dead on with the coaching analogy. Dungy is a tremendous guy, but he gets owned almost every week. Cannot make adjustments and in fact refuses to lots of times.

Thanks for the replies gang.
Never lay wood on the road the first couple weeks, but the oddsmakers are begging people to take the Jets, which has be going to the counter with both hands full of money. Oline woes for the Jets. Bad blood will have the Pats fired up. Much better offense here and The best coach at taking advatage of weaknesses in the league.
Pats -6.5

Seattle Over 41.
Bucs Defense is atrocious. However they can score with Garcia. Look for them to put up 21 minimum which sends this baby way over.
Neither coach cares about defense. Seattle will score early and often.

Surprised to see you running with Joey Public last night Clem. Tough one but here comes the weekend. Im stearing clear of the much overhyped Patriots. Love the Seatle over pick. Goodluck Bundy
