Without doing any 'capping yet... (that's my disclaimer lol)...

I say: Clemson +7.5 (buy)... not sure on total yet, but lean over

I think Clemson's defensive backs will do a much better job covering Bama's receivers, possibly pick off a few

I think Clemson's qb is a playmaker... great speed, when play breaks down (and many will due to Bama's strong defensive front 7) Williams will be able to improvise and evade often enough and well enough to create some big plays. And they have talent at the skill positions to break big plays of their own downfield.

Was impressed with Bama's depth... their Heisman winner, the guy that ran the punt back, a couple impressive receivers too.
I don't think I would place Coker (Bama qb) at the same level as Williams (Clemson qb)....

Saban has a good formula for getting his team ready for big games, History shows that.

But I think Clemson has a lot of confidence, and talent, and a coach willing to take chances with a trick play, or fake punt whatever.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bama wins... but I will certainly take the points w Clemson if the game were tomorrow.... (will letcha know if I change my mind) :SIB

It's midnight... I'm "Bowled" out... :wall:

Betonline dropped to Bama-6' (-113)yesterday and I grabbed some. Thinking here is that the Bama defense is the better of the two and defense wins ballgames. I also like Bama's turnover ratio edge as well. You have to beat Bama, they won't beat themselves. Not sure I feel the same way about the Dabos. Its a conflict of interest for me because in my heart I would love to see Clemson win but.....

I would have played at 7 but not for as much as I'm holding at the spread I got.

Alabama -7 and 52.5

What do you like and why?

The dog has covered the last two, in the Championship.

Dabo playing his alma mater. Nick w/outgoing DC Smart and OC Kiffin and Tide a bit under-valued, both teams did well on the road and both teams have speed and size at key skill sets and I like the coolness of Watson and Coker gets better every game it seems.

Books have this number right on.

Sag has Alabama @ A = 100.48 and 2 Clemson A = 95.36, no home field edge here. So Bama should have been at a minimum a 5 pt fav. My other ratings I use have Bama as a 2 pt fav without any home field edge.

Bama is 1-1 vs Top 10 this year, Clemson is 1-0 vs Top 10.

Bama has the Heisman and Last 3 Heisman games, the Heisman winner's team has lost or not covered. Mariota last year year.

Strength of schedules are about as close as most championship games. Bama's only loss vs Ole Piss. Clemson's biggest challengers this year, ND and Fla St along with UNC. If Bama were playing ND, Fla St or UNC they would have been double digit favs or more.

Turnovers are the key and Bama has a 10 T/O edge over Clemson.

Special Teams edge to Bama.

Coaches having been there, Bama has the edge.

Clemson with an 18 pt margin of victory and Bama with a 21 pt margin of victory.

Throw out the conferences they're in, but you can argue that ACC has stunk in the Bowls, NC State, UNC, Fla St all losers, only Duke won in OT vs Indiana Hoosier-daddies.

Bama with a solid kicker and front 7 as well as backers, I love Ragland.

Clemson has one solid backer in the Bosworth wannabe.

Bama allowing just 2.3 yds per carry on "D" and Clemson 3.6. That's huge. We all know that Dabo will key on Henry, which may open the aerial game for Bama and if does, Bama's WRs might be better overall than when Cooper played last season.

Dabo's theme is bring your own Guts and I know he'll have his team fired up but right now on paper, this is a coin flip for me and I'll probably be playing only the total and ML.

This game will be played in Phoenix where doggies have ruled in the past and also the total has hedged over the number, mostly in the Fiesta Bowl games.

I'll be jumping on Bama if this line drops to -6, right now it's -7 most casino's and off-shores, some 6 1/2's out there, 5 Dimes has 7 1/2.

Total opened at 53, it's at 51 to 52 1/2. My # for this one was 53 so Vegas had it pegged. Margin of error is 3 pts either direction so not much wiggle room.

GL on what ya play, a teaser might have to be in order and I'm not pressured on picking this one just yet.

Just giving my 3 1/2 cents worth for food for thought.

It's been a long time since Danny Ford's team won the Nat'l championship over Woody Hayes and I love underdogs but this one is right on the money on side and total, so let the line move a bit to pounce.

The Tigers secondary will make it difficult to bama to throw the ball. They will need to throw to keep pace with tigers. Don't underestimate tigers front 7. The play is to take points for 10 units. Ml for 5 units. Take alternate lines for 3 units. If Clemson wins, and they will, all this bets will hit. :0008:0008:0008

I don't say this boastfully , I only mention it because of my avatar to the left here ... Looking back through this site this year I posted a play on or against Alabama 10 times .. I was 5-0 on and 5-0 against them for +23*'s.. What does that mean ? Not much other than I've had a good feel for them this year ..

Having said that , Alabama has done nothing to make me believe they won't win this game by 7 , or 20 points for that matter ... We'll hear all week how alabama has the second best qb in the game , but all Coker has done is hit big passes downfield and not turned the ball over ...

Dabo has done an impressive job this year but can anyone say they rather him over Saban ?

Alabam has sp team advantage with Cyrus Jones..

IMO , Alabama's back up front 7 is as good as Clemsons starters

Good luck with whatever you do but for me
Alabama -6.5 ***

This is going to be one helluva game with tons of talent all over the field...That being said i believe this Alabama team is FN loaded..Been a long time since i've seen so many NFL prospects on one team...I think without a doubt the biggest edge will be in the coaching dept and having been here so often...Kirby Smart is as good as they come on Defense and so is Saban (still has defensive records standing when he was at Cleveland)..But here lies the kicker in the whole deal...Love him or hate him Lane Kiffin is a BRILLIANT offensive mind and he will have a master plan....This is a big if but if they slow down the Clemson QB and i think they can they win and cover...Bama pounds them and ball controls this game and has their way in the 4th qtr...Just my 2 cents worth...GL madjackers....

My disclaimer is that I don't watch all of Bamas games but in the past few years the thing that I've seen the really hurts their D is a mobile QB. Clemson has the best this year and the kid plays very calm out there. I also think Clemsons Dline is very good if they have everyone available. I'm not saying I think Clemson wins but I like their chances of keeping it close.

Cardale Jones isn't very mobile and he torched bama.

Clemson is going to roll up the tide. MSU was the perfect matchup for them. MSU wasn't even the 2nd best team in the big 10 but got lucky based on how the dominos fell!

Watson is like Cam Newton in College, except a little smaller frame, but much more accurate passer. These games usually come down to the better quarterback. Cam, Tebow, Vince Young. :SIB:SIB:SIB

Was Vince Young a better college qb than leinart?

Better athlete for sure.....I would say fairly close in overall talent, but edge to leinart....
Just my opinion but would be a good debate...

Anyways, I just know it should be an awesome game...I still don't buy BAMA offense as elite or even great..... Coker is hugely improved but Clemson has athletes on d side who are underrated. Dabo and this team have, for lack of better terms, the 'swagger' right now.....just like OSU last year. ...I'm huge on that confidence level in college. ...Bama always has it to an extent but mostly because of the colors they wear....they have to think they can win....it's coached into them. ...but it's different when teams have it for a year and can bottle it up and ride it....this Clemson team has it.....whatever it is....

That said, lining up and smacking pads with Bama is never as easy as teams think ....plus Derrick henry, the heisman winner that looks like eddie lacy and brandon jacobs had a baby, can and almost always will wear teams down rather quickly....

I honestly think this is the most equal title game in years in regards to talent and athleticism....sometimes that doesn't matter and one team will out coach and out scheme and still wins by 20+....

So pretty much as always I have no idea what the right side is.....but if forced to play it, Clemson getting a TD would probably get my money in what I think could/should be a very close game....

Over should hit in 3rd quarter.....bama d is nasty but I don't see anyone stopping Clemson from scoring at this junction....they may slow em down but even on a bad day Clemson can hit 24+....and bama is always good for 28+ in big games....hell they hit 21 using all FGs to beat LSU the one year

Bama 33-31

I'm not a Alabama lover, I'm a fan of college football...I call em like i see them and i honestly believe this defense is for real and will show up with malicious intent...We all have opinions some not as Good as others but i have been listening and reading a LOT and i believe Saban when he says this team was not focused last year and this year winning is all that counts...Hey it's a heavyweight fight and whoever hits the hardest will win...Monday night at roughly 9 pm est you can call me a SEC clown but for now give me REASONING why Clemson will WIN and i will gladly listen...I believe Bama leads in about 90% of defensive stats SOS kicking game and special teams...Offense i give Clemson a sight edge but like i said earlier Kiffin may be the difference in this game....GL with your opinion...
