Wake Forest is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS their last three as a neutral court favorite of 12 1/2 or more since 1997, and gets their star guard back,. Chris Paul, off of a one game suspension. The Deacons face a Chattanooga team that is 7-9 SU and 6-10 ATS their last 16 against teams with a winning record. Wake has done poorly in the big dance of late, but today they get the win and cover starting new trends.

West Virginia is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS their last three big dance games, and are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS their last five neutral court games as a favorite of three or less. People are betting Creighton like they are the second coming of the 1996 Chicago Bulls, but they are coming from the MVC, a much weaker conference than the Big East. W Virginia is 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS their last nine overall, and will cruise by 10 today over the Jays.

Continuing with the "W" teams, we take a stab with Wisc-Milwaukee, who with leading scorer Ed McCants tore up the Horizon League this year, losing five games all season long. They have a guard on the outside than can shoot, Boo Davis, and a trio of big men inside, with Tucker, Tigert and the aforementioned star, McCants. Alabama does have star in the making, Winston, but Wisc-Milw is a perfect 15-0 SU and 13-2 ATS their last 15 off a win against a Horizon League foe. They upset the Tide by three this afternoon.

Kentucky is playing in-state foe Eastern Kentucky, coached by former Wildcat Travis Ford. The 'Cats are 8-0 SU and 5-3 ATS their last eight as a neutral court favorite of 12 1/2 or more since 1997, and are 5-2 SU and ATS their last seven non-conference games. E Kentucky is 0-6 SU their last six against the SEC, and 0-2 ATS as well. They get rolled today by Tubby's 'Cats.

Iowa some people believe should not have gotten into the tournament, with a dismal Big Ten record at 7-9, but a strong non-conference resume beating ISU, Texas and Louisville. The Hawkeyes, nevertheless, are here and are looking to do some damage. The Hawkeyes are 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS their last five big dance contests, while Cincy is 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS their last three big dance games. Iowa by six today.

lsu huge $$$$play

Small opponents can create havoc, but LSU proved it can weather that kind of game when they destroyed Auburn three times this season. UAB will attract attention because of last season's NCAA upset of Kentucky, but that Kentucky team lacked a serious low-post scoring presence, or muscle to control the tempo. LSU has a pair of serious wide-bodies -- 6-8 Brandon Bass and 6-9 Glen Davis -- not what UAB wants to be going up against. Bass and Davis can exploit UAB's interior defense, and UAB's three-point shooting against fair-to-good LSU perimeter defenders Minor and Hudson probably isn't good enough to overcome their points-in-the-paint mismatch. Knock on LSU point guard Tach Minor was that getting LSU into a halfcourt game would expose him. But his play dispelled those notions, so now he should be okay in that kind of affair, which UAB doesn't want anyway. Just not a good match-up for UAB

Nevada huge $$$

Nevada was my sleeper last year, and this year once again is a sleeper. Fasekas, WAC player of the year, has been awesome so far this year, and will be fun to watch bang around with Klotz and Buckman down low. The Wolfpack are 2-1 SU and ATS their last three big dance contests, and are 2-1 SU and ATS their last three as a neutral court dog of three or less. Texas, on the other side of the coin, is only 2-4 SU and ATS their last six, and 4-8 SU and ATS their last 12, all as a neutral court favorite of three or less. Without D'Marcus Aldridge and PJ Tucker, the Longhorns have put together a nice run. Too bad that it all ends tonight. Wolfpack by eight.

Gonzaga -13.5 big

Gonzaga has Adam Morrison, a second coming of Larry Bird, shooting the lights out and Ronny Turiaf, an inside presence, that has this Bulldog team thinking maybe Final Four. They have covered three in a row and six of eight, and haven't lost since dropping one at St. Mary's. They have covered three of their last four big dance contests, and will defeat Winthrop by 30 tonight.
