Leukemia for my 2 year old

Although this is a repeat, I can certainly vouch for the at least 80% survival rate. My daughter's beast friend at the time (when they were 3) was diagnosed with Leukemia. The chemo made her sick for a while and made her hair fall out, but after a while she was as back to normal as someone could be. The most remarkable thing though was the innocence that little kids have. For the most part she thought she was just sick, not aware of the 20% hanging over her. And when they played together it was like the disease or baldness was not even there. Isnt it nice not to judge people by what they look like.

It's more than likely gonna be harder on you all than your son. Young children seem to be better at handling situations such as these.

Your particular situation sure puts things into perspective. Makes this LSU blowout seem quite trivial...

Oh My, Mizzou...... so sorry to hear of this news!! there is nothing harder to deal with than an illness/injury to a child..... Bryan is in my thoughts and prayers, as well as you and your wife!! Just keep that 80% child lukemia survival rate in mind, KNOW that your son is part of that 80%, and keep on praying that soon, the cure rate will reach 100% for all other children inflicted!!

Mizzou, Keep us posted on Grant. I have a four year old son named Grant as well and a two year old son Nolan, i cannot imagine what your going through as i told you previously my wife had thyroid cancer earlier this year. My family and i are praying for your son.

Remember this: Your son, like you, is an American.....and we come from good stock -- a nation of warriors and fighters. Most of the battle is going to come from the heart and faith. You are going to have to all pull together and use every resource to beat this thing. I am confident that many incredible things will come out of this trying time for your son, you, and your family. I will also keep him and all of you in my prayers.....your faith will pull you through this....there are some pretty good ways to fight this disease out there but the most effective comes from inside

My prayers are with you and your family. Having a child this hits close to home and all I can say is please stay strong for your little guy. He's not gonna understand stuff and keep in mind that constantly running a hand through his hair and a ton of hugs will help him feel more secure with whats going on. When things like this happen it really puts things in perspective and makes us instantly realize that nothing else really matters. My heart goes out to any child and family that has to settle for anything less than your two year old watching teletubbies and playing with hot wheel cars. I'm not a rich guy so I can't offer to make any financial donations but if things are going to be tight for you guys I would be more than happy to send over some nice clothing and toys your way. well said by everyone in this forum!! freeze, kevin, etc... i am really choked up and quite glossy eyed and am lost for words! GOD BLESS YOU GRANT!!! mizzou, you WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS MY FRIEND!!!!!!
