Hoosier country
ahhhhhhhhh....such a great debate and so little time....but....like the profs say....focus the thesis....so....here goes one point....

as a pseudo-outsider with first hand knowledge of the US and its people (generalities, i know)....and who supports absolutely NO political party....what people tend to forget, are unaware of or don't really give a f*ck about....is the fact that the land of the free and the home of the brave....despite its puritanical and predominantly Christian aesthetic, ideology and mantra....is a democratic and capitalistic country that was founded through both oppression and violence!!!

this being a given....the whole idea of capitalism itself advocates oppression....cause and effect theory in full force....in order for big business to succeed and thrive....those that actually call the shots in the country....then there has to be negative repercussions in one form or another....NOT everyone can be rich....or else there wouldn't be a rich or poor....hence, NO capitalism!!!

big business....are they not be entitled to the billions they acquire LEGALLY (another generalization here)....yes, of course they're entitled to it....BUT....moral obligations often become an afterthought for the quest of the almighty buck....and this in itself extends much further than the border....just one of the reasons americans are despised world wide!!!

and for those that truly believe the US media is SO liberal....ask yourself this one question....who actually owns these companies?!!!

ABC - disney - a model right wing conglomerate

CBS - viacom/westinghouse - nuclear entertainment....perfect!!!

NBC - general electric - funny....but didn't their coverage of the war (especially the gulf war) seem like an advertisement for US arms supremacy....wait....who builds those again???

FOX - rupert murdoch - is this man even capable of liberal thought???

CNN - AOL/time warner - yeah....those mags/papers MUST be liberal too then?!!!

and this may even be a stretch....BUT....the US media is moderate at best....definitely NOT liberal!!!

anyways....back to the REAL writing....in order to capitalize on MY capitalistic tendencies in the future....HA HA HA HA!!!

:)

:)

i guess this sums up where you come from....lmao

no capitalism is a system where everyone wins...i win when i make a transaction and the business i frequent wins too...otherwise there would be no transaction

everyone benefits in capitalism...productivity predominates...people succeed and are capable of going from 120 GRAND in debt to becoming a millionaire....its a brilliant system

and on the flip side, you have communist China and our friends the Soviets....what great Utopia all you liberals strive to acheive!!!

Eddie:
I hope you shot a good round at Torrey Pines. I sit here an read the diatribe that comes out of your mouth. I guess we will agree to disagree. Little history for you (no it's not for a tear-jerker)
My dad died in Vietnam. I do not remember him I have a few tapes of his voice. I would've joined the military but my mom said that our family had sacrificed enough. She doesn't think he believed in the War but he believed in America. She says he was the most honorable man she has ever met.
You'd think after losing my father to war I'd be against another conflict but I'm not. I see it as necessary to maintain the safety of America for my kids and the generations beyond. Obviously, you disagree. Fine. That's one of the great things about our country. But, please. Do not label me a war-monger, or a neo-nazi or any of those things. If this could have been accomplished without the use of force, I'd welcome it. I feel for every wife, mother and child who loses a loved one over there.
I don't think we'll get a true idea on the repercussions of this war for a least a decade. I sincerely hope the outcome is worth the price in lives.
I enjoy the banter with you but the name-calling really strikes a nerve with me. You think you can stereo-type me because of my views but you know absolutely nothing about me. I sincerely hope you are more tolerant of people with different views than your own than you portray here.

Good luck in the debate guys. I hope everyone keeps an open-mind and learns a few things. I'm done with this topic.

:142smilie Stop it Eddie your killing me. I can't believe you laid this one on us.
"You are what I am protecting this country against. "

As I page through our BG phone directory there are 3 pages of accountants,12 of physicians 5 insurance agents and 39 of attorneys.
Hello Can you see the light yet? Glad we got so many protectors
;) Like the fox watching the chickens.

Evidently you was away when I did the post on all the class action suits where the plaintiffs got coupons compared to the millions collect by the attorneys. who were they protecting.
Save that spin for your sheep.
There is some major reform coming Eddie and you will see this 39 pages dwindle to about halve in 5 years. I would suggest you start right now on getting educated in Corporate,Estate/Probate,Real Estate,Criminal Defense ect portion of law.

The bottom line as always. You tell me how the left could survive without the right, and I'll do a page on how the right would flourish beyond belief without the left.
Now if we are to believe your spin, those that prosper and are productive are the scourge, and the
"its not my fault" that are carried by those that are productuve, are the ones that made this nation what it is.

P.S. You better concentrate on Ohio cause KY just got their 1st Republican gov in 30 years running primarily on legal reform. Can you hear "we the people", Eddie. They are shouting at you.:)

It becomes down right funny how it's ok to be this. But then bad the next day. Take actors. Them dam nasty liberal SOB that have the guts to say whats on there minds about Bush and the war.
But when Rony was Pres and Arny ran for Gov of Calf. Chit right wingers just druling over them. Those actors were ok. Well Bush is better at it then Rony was. Bush can look right in that camera and tell lies without blinking. So each side right and left have there Fall outs. But that's not new.
