The Difference Between Liberals, Conservatives, and Texas Conservatives

Question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a .45 Auto and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

The Liberal Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of! his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun and what kind of message does this send to society and my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion.

Conservative Answer:

BLAM!

Texas Conservative Answer:

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Click... (Sounds of reloading). Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving, what do you kids think? " Son: "Mom's right, Dad,! I saw it too... " BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Click. Daughter: "Nice group, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips?"

Now consider the cost of each approach:

Would-be robber slain by intended victim

Would-be robber slain by intended victim

By MIKE MORRIS
Atlanta Journal-Constitution Staff Writer

A suspected armed robber was shot and killed by his intended victim in Clayton County, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight at Independence Park on Thomas Road near Jonesboro.

A man was walking with his 11-year-old daughter when the suspect "approached them and attempted to rob them," said Clayton County police Lt. Joseph Woodall.

"The victim pulled his own firearm and fired some rounds at the suspect," Woodall said.

"The suspect fled about 30 yards and fell over."

The suspect, who was in his late teens or 20s, died at the scene. "He still had in his hand a stolen Glock pistol," Woodall said.

A stolen vehicle that police believe was the suspect's getaway car was also found in the park.

Police say the father acted in self-defense and will not face charges in connection with the shooting. The names of the two men have not been released.

So you all want to go back to the wild/wild west and the covered wagons. If what you say above would be true and happen 1000 times a day we may have a differant problem. Called lawless-ness.

So you think this guy with his 11-year old little girl wasn't supposed to defend himself? That's what you call Lawless-ness?

You are unreal.

I like that Texas Conservative approach. That's the way we do things down here in the South. Its called the right to defend yourself.

Lets have a Rebel Yell!

Turf blow-em to hell I agree. But since the gun was not fired at you/us/him. Then pray it was not a fake gun. Because then were guilty of murder and are going to jail. You can be put into a no win situation. Not everything is cut and tied in a perfect bow.

Fake, real, or made of play-dough, if you pull a gun on me and want my wallet, expect a bullet in your ass is all I can say.

It's the American way! Love it or leave it.

"Lots" of interesting stats in this link.

One that pertains to this debate.
In 1987 Florida enacted right to carry arms in 1987 from then to 1996,which is far as this study went, homicides dropped 37% compared to 14% increase nationwide.

---and Eddie I got one for you too. I know you will be gone for a while as I am sure you are currently camped out in projects in Cinn anticipating the for coming riots and trolling for clients but when you return----

The cost of lawsuits in the U.S. amounts to a "lawsuit tax" of $1,200 for every man, woman and child in America. This is the cost added to the price of goods and services that you pay for as a result of litigation, settlements and liability insurance.

Here is link--as you read think about previous statement( libs/cons)
who would flourish and who would self destruct without the other. ;)

DTB I wonder about some those folks that would just fire a weapon with out true cause. And then hire a lawyer to save there ass. I agree we have to many litigations. But when the stats are over 100000 folks go into hospitals each year. Then come out with the wrong item repaired or taken off. What do they expect. I mean a guy goes into have a leg removed. They cut off a arm. If the docs/hospitals would be nice enough to say we screwd up. Offer 500 grand say for there mistake it might save all of us some money. But Dam they fight like cats and dog as if there perfect.
