Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - New York Rangers center Eric Lindros has been suspended for one game by the National Hockey League.
The penalty stems from a high-sticking incident with Montreal Canadiens defenseman Stephane Quintal in Friday night's game. Lindros hit Quintal in the head with a one-handed swing of his stick during a scramble in front of Montreal's net in a game won by the Canadiens, 4-1.
Lindros is expected to sit out Saturday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
